NB Hutchinson Parkway, Westchester County NY

Post image

Bonus points to the driver for trying it : a) with a double trailer, b) on a Parkway (trucks are banned on Parkways by NY state law)

More people potentially using car GPS units that route them incorrectly.

Truck satnav is expensive, some companies don’t provide it

If you have a commercial licence, it is not worth losing your job because you drove down the wrong road. If you don't know where you are going, local laws or are not able to read a map to plan your trip, truck satnav is worth every penny.

Bosses should really provide it, though it’s not too much of a problem using Waze etc if you pay attention to what you’re doing, low bridges are typically signposted plenty so easy to avoid, same with width and weight restrictions,

Waze knows nothing about height or weight limits. No trucker should use Waze. Problem is that by the time you are getting onto a road with signage it’s often too late to turn back, especially with a 53’ trailer…

In my area the roads typically have signs before the last few turnings, and if it’s a side road where the bridge is it’s typically signposted before you turn in
