PDP Defender comp LE.
I have another one without the checkered front strap and extended beavertail, but this one just showed up at my FFL. 200rds later listening to Motley Crue. Shoots amazing. Flat. Smooth. Old school awesome.

My Guns Credit to Novak
I put the slide in the drop off box Monday afternoon, and got it back the morning. Novak certainly doesn't drag their feet. And now I have things back to the original style. Whoever had it before me put ledge sights on it, and g10 grips. But now I have cocobolos and novak sights back on.

Please help me pick ..
I just turned 45 and want to buy a 1911 as my first 45. This will only be for the range and these are the ones that fit my budget. Any advice on choosing between these would be awesome! If you know others that I might like better in this price range … drop them too please! Thank you in advance!

Wilson Combat CQB with Schauland trigger job.
Got this earlier in the year in a trade, first custom 1911 and man it’s a great shooter.

Sig Sauer Target ammo preferences (for Sig 1911)
I've already had some hiccups due to dirty ammo, shitty mags and need some peace of mind next time at the range. Any suggestions based on your best experiences with target ammo in the Sig 1911 specifically? I think PMC has been the best for me so far but open to other suggestions especially since I'm looking to drop some coin on some bulk ammo soon.
bonus question: what are your favorite mags? I own an 8rd and two 10rd black poly Wilson mags rn.

GripBrick
Grip chaos got you down? Rattling around in the safe, sprawled across the bench, or just generally making a mess? Some folks change grips like they change their socks. Gripbrick storage trays, we use them in our shop to store inventory and ship grips
45 Friday still a thing?
I hear the old Loadeds with the OD Green Armory Kote are pretty hard to come by these days.

My Guns Forty-five Friday
Posted this before, but I just made some changes. Went from black factory rubber grips to something more seasonal.

Officer sized 9mm recommendations
I'm having trouble finding much in this setup due to websites not having filter options to narrow it down that way.
I'm not looking to spend wilson combat, or Dan wesson money for it, as this will be my wife's first gun. For the past 20 years I've tried to get her into guns from time to time, but finally after the stabbing in Charlotte not being far from us, she's interested in getting a concealed license.
With my p365 the slide release is too stiff for her, on top of struggling with the slide itself, so I figured we could at least try something with a little more meat on the slide. She can barely rack my fuse, but that's probably more to due with my red dot. She couldn't budge my p-01 with its low height slide. On a full size .45 1911 with an 18 pound spring she struggled. I saw the kimber micro 9 has an 11.5 pound spring, so I figured maybe other 9mm officer sized guns could be easier for her. She hasn't had luck with the small slides on .380 guns.
I'd rather her have something with a manual safety since she will be carrying in her pocket book, but if all else fails I could do something like a ruger sp101 and use .38. Whatever she gets doesn't have to be a 1911 or 1911 based, but i saw that spring weight on the kimber and it gave me hope.
Thanks for any recommendations.

General Discussion New to 1911’s
I’m interested in getting a 1911 for home defense / range. I’d like a double stack 1911 in 9mm. My budget is sub $2,000. What are your suggestions?
My first 1911 was a WWI GI issued 1911. It was a safe queen for years and I only put one mag through it before selling it. I’ve shot a 1911 at a gun range. It was a full custom race 1911 from STI.

Help Me Is the Kimber Rapide that much better than a Next Gen?
Price on these two are about $400 different but I'd have to have a rail added to the Next Gen in order for the HD configuration I want (all stainless, OR, rail, front strap checkering).
It won't be a carry gun so bobb is moot. Rapide would get wood grips. Whichever one I pick it will get a dot. Don't care about the extractor. Kimber says the Next Gen has a "GT performance trigger" and says Rapide has a "Match Grade Bushing". Do these translate to anything that matters or is it just marketing BS? As the more expensive model, does does that mean the Rapide got more fitment treatment? Thoughts?
