That's some bold statement from someone in CZ-75 and Sa vz.58 range.

I don’t see much wrong with it

Too light for it's high rate of fire on auto, fire selector in weird position, mags not compatible with ak, muzzle thread done in opposite direction as ak, bayonet attached from back to front.
It a magnificent piece of gun but some stuff on it just leave you head scratching

Oh nooo the VZ58... is different from AK47!
Who could have guessed.

The Czechoslovak communist government was actually pretty decent, being pragmatic and relatively liberal.
Unfortunately, our army crushed them in 1968 for it, which is a bloody shame. Who knows what Dubček could have done if he stayed in power for longer.

Eh depends when. Under Dubcek fair, Gottwald was basically Czech Stalin and copied Stalin

u/disappointed_neko Tschechien Pornostar 3d ago
Yeah but that was when Stalin lived. Gottwald died like a week after him so you could say that as soon as Stalin was gone it started getting better and in the end you had the best communist regime that ever existed (out of the communist regimes).

When you're comparing them to their fellow commies abroad like Khruschev or Hoxha they seem downright reasonable.

Imo we would have turned into a soft socialist state like Yugoslavia.

Well, what about: Czech metro trains, trams, Škoda cars, Tatra trucks, brutalism architecture, Aero aircrafts, list goes on.

u/DaudyMentol Kaiserreich Gang 4d ago
So you are just naming all the businesses that were a lot more profitable and inovative before communism rather than during communism. Am i seeing this right?

Ahh yes the aero aircraft. A true classic of Czechoslovakian engineering 😌

Calling brutalist architecture anything other than an unusual and cruel punishment is a crime in and of itself

I like it. Taste is subjective.

Talking about architecture with a brutalism fan is like trading brownie recipes with a coprophliac

u/lpcustomvs Winged Pole dancer 3d ago
Seriously, I prefer brutalism over whatever happened to architecture between the year 2000 and 2010. At least here, in Poland, where I live.

It's important to separate the concrete panel apartment buildings from the actually interesting works of architecture

Most of those things existed before commies stole them.

More like Communist not caring for cartoons and soft drinks so really competent people were able to work on them
