We are REALLY taking a slow period. I'm not a figurehead of industrious hard work, but I get up every morning at 5 to get to work and do a full day, I know it's a good joke that I like siestas etc but even by my standards, we have gotten lazy. We are the master civilisational hub, used to be other places would invent stuff, like china with gunpowder, and we would see it, envision it's true potential and use that power to climb atop the corpse pile to plant our flags. Now we make safe places for people's feelings. Fuck your feelings, fuck my feelings, fuck HAPPINESS for the working man, we should reserve that for women and children like we used to and get back to pushing this stupid species we are part of into a brighter future, no matter the cost to ourselves or others. The survival of our species really does depend on us.

Fuck happiness? The pursue of happiness is a modern European value we paid for with centuries of our own blood and misery. Europe must absolutely be the blueprint of mankind's future but not by being a corporate state like the muricans or collectivist people grinding machines like the Asians.

But yes, you're right to some degree.

I know we were headed that way but look what it has done to us. We have become purple haired people pleasers. They used to tell horror stories about us across every other continent! Now we are where their dictatorial ruling classes invest for a property portfolio. We have sold them our land, we have sold them our industry, we have sold them our agriculture and we are a shadow of the people we were when we treated everyone (including ourselves) like crap.

How bright can a future be without happiness though?

Trying to read between the lines, I guess the fella above is saying that chasing happiness per se is not what creates happiness. Creating a better future on the other hand does, as a nice side effect of being a superior civilisation

Thank you, Luigi gets it: we have to drag people to an actual better life instead of the semblance of happiness we have now. What we have now is just stuff. Machines that make sounds and lights. But we can't afford houses and we don't stand up for what we believe in.
