Every little bit helps.

It's too bad more younger artists don't feel compelled to speak out.

Less for lack of making the music and more for lack of the capitalist corporate machine giving artists traction. Content is out there if you look. Don't expect mainstream anything to be anything other than controlled narrative anymore.

I know of a few new revolution music artists that are pretty great. Skydadxy, and Ren are 2 to start with.

Seconded to REN.

You're right but there are big, household names out there still who aren't saying anything. Seems like it's mostly older folks.

Neil Young debuted his protest song “Big Crime” on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, during a soundcheck at the Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago

This isn’t the first time Young has clashed with Trump he once sued over the use of “Rockin’ in the Free World” at rallies, and he’s long been one of the more outspoken musicians on politics.

This brings a good point…where are all the musicians at with their protest songs? Art in general has never been shy about speaking up, but I’ve basically seen nothing from the artistic community

The fact that more celebrities (not just artists) aren’t using their voice and influence is extremely disappointing.

Remember when awards shows meant it was time to use their voice for whatever cause they believed in? Now they’re all silent. I think Jane Fonda spoke out when she got a lifetime achievement award, but almost every one is silent. Rosie O’Donnell moved to Ireland before she really spoke out (not that I blame her).

It’s mostly late night show hosts speaking up. Colbert paid the price, but I hope he lands somewhere that he is even more successful

Here I am! https://youtu.be/fbK_d9tKMso

It's really hard to get music heard unless you're a 'star' like Neil Young. There are lots of other musicians and artists out there. They're just not getting supported by social media companies.

There's a young guy named Jesse Welles who has been cranking out protest music. He's fantastic.

Jesse Wells, Grandson, those are two I know of very well who are cranking out protest songs like no tomorrow

they're tired man. pop music sucks all the attention up and real musicians have been protesting for forever

well done applies all the same in the US as it does in Jamaica for an older example

The close captioning is shit. No more GREAT again. It is putting up no more green. And screwed up a bunch near the end. But Yeah to the Hippies! He's got Miller scared.

Several errors besides that! Don't even burn in captions if they're gonna be that bad.

Its great he is trying, we need ALL of the country singers, metal singers, rap artists and pop artists to follow this example because this monstrosity in the WH needs to FEEL the whole country being against their corruption!!

It really sounds great! Good stuff.

, ...Springsteen spoke out. Not sure he has a new song out. Has Bob Dylan spoken up or gave new song out? Where are Counting Crows, Green Day...?

u/FrancescoChiara 1d ago

Yay, Neil!!!

I love that he did this, but would be great if it was catchy enough to make it to the radio or rank on streaming services ... Billy Joel "We didn't start the fire" comes to mind
