Leviacake Week 4 (sets x reps x weight in kgs)

  • Close Grip Bench 5x80 5x90 5x100 20,17,13x77 (in 9 minutes)
  • DB Incline Bench (30°) 8,8,8x33
  • DB Skullcrusher 8,8,8x23
  • Iso Lateral Wide Pulldown 9,9,9x160
  • DB Curl 7,7,7x23
  • Cable Curl 10,10,13x36
  • Cable Lateral Raise SS Reverse Fly 2x15x13 SS 2x15x13

Notes: Very good session, managed a set of 20 reps with FSL weights, and did all of the 50 total reps in 3 sets in 9 minutes. Getting better in all the variables. Side thought: this is the first time in a while that I have felt like I'm forcing myself to eat to meet the caloric target. I really think I've just been lazy for the last few years by never doing an actual bulking phase.

Workout song of the day: Tremonti - Leave it alone

Working into week 11 post-op here. I've settled into a bit of a 531-like routine given my limitations.

Leg press is treated like a main. Work up to top set of ~20lb increase each week (goal is 10 reps each week, and since its leg press, I have no god damn idea how much weight this really is and 20lb jumps don't seem like its actually 20lbs). Back off to essentially FSL and do a widowmaker. Then RDLs, started at 95lb, 3x10, making 10lb weekly increase (moving into 115 next week).

Accessory work is easy DB curls, front raise, standing row, machine tricep extension, crunches. All work has to be without any pec engagement beyond a light flex for support. And even working non-pec muscles, the pec can't be in stretched position (ie no pull-downs because the pec is too stretched, even rows would have to be half reps to avoid stretch at both extended and flexed positions). Pec work currently is limited to isometrics, so daily wall squeezes or planks in a push-up position.

Running is up to 2-on (minutes), 1-off for 12 cycles. I'll push it to 15 cycles later this week. Then move to 3-on, 1-off, probably ~10 cycles. And keep that type of progression up for up to ~6 weeks, increasing run duration, while total exercise time stays around 30-40 minutes.

Worked in power snatches 10 total reps with 40kg as a warmup today before strict presses in place of the throws. Felt good and fun to be able to do them again (a shoulder injury had prevented me from doing them for most of last year). Might have to work these in more often alongside power cleans and see how it goes.

Ran for 2 hours on Saturday.

Deload week for squats, I did a heavy single at my training max yesterday (450 lbs)

I tweaked my elbow on bench the week prior so I just did some moderate push work to flush bloodflow into the elbow this past weekend. Feeling better already.

AMRAP Test week - Bench press

New e1RM PR of 201 lbs. 4 lbs more than my previous e1RM. Not as much as I was expecting but then again today was definitely one of those average lifting days. I'll take it!

Just started Krypteia today. Finished the workout in under 40 mins, I know it will get harder.

However, realized I was using the heaviest dumbbell at the gym for squat accessory (set only goes up to 100lbs). What do I do later on? Up the reps?
