Thursday Discussion Thread

Great place for team discussion/whatever Serie A related topics you would like to bring up. Examples: Transfers, rumors, players from other teams, things you miss about the old days etc. Whatever you want as long as it isn't too off-topic.

Also a good spot to ask about the stadium, the city of Milano, bars, fan clubs in your city etc.

Here are some important links for new members:

I am still hyperfocused on the issue with the Curva Sud, and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, a known Milan fan, keeps speaking up about it:

"I'd like all the fans, non-violent ones of course, to be able to cheer again. San Siro without the stands isn't San Siro. Keeping criminals, drug dealers, and hooligans out of stadiums for life, yes, but not allowing a flag, a scarf, a drum, or microphones for chants into the stadium, no.

AC Milan at home without its fans isn't AC Milan, just like Inter and the other teams. I hope the clubs have the will to kick out the violent ones, but without losing the most fervent and colorful support. Many come to San Siro to hear the chants, also because that year there wasn't much to see on the pitch; what was more interesting was what was seen off the pitch."

The irony of this statement being that he was notoriously photographed a few years back as clearly being well-acquainted with Luca Lucci, the former leader of the Curva Sud and the worst-of-the worst of the "criminals, drug dealers, and hooligans."

Just fyi but probably already know, Salvini is a blatant liar and corrupted idiot. Pretty sure he takes money for cremlin propaganda in Italy too

Exactly. The pot calling the kettle black.

But still, like most fans, he wants the Curva Sud back. No idea if his "political weight" is helpful or harmful to the cause.

I don't think our owners give a shit about Italian politics. They want a different kind of stadium, Curva isn't profitable but most importantly the generic tifoso doesn't complain while Curva can be loud, very loud

Yeah, by political weight, I was speaking more of the combined authorities - the anti-mafia people, local prosecutor, police, etc., who are also part of this.
