“Just Google and see what she actually said for yourself instead of having people on Reddit interpret it one way or another.”

Also, not a dude.

I'm missing how that implies anything at all...

Context, moron.

This is an unfathomably stupid argument. I didn't make a single claim or implication - it's your fault for trying to weasel something more than the obvious meaning of what I said out of it and decide it's worth being a rude little shit about.

  1. Person asks for explanation on why Rowling is a piece of trash

  2. OP accurately explain Rowling’s transphobia

  3. A transphobic bigot lies.

  4. You defend the bigot by suggesting that OP didn’t explain it accurately.

  5. I provide evidence she’s a transphobe

  6. You get upset

I didn't defend anyone, I didn't say anyone didn't explain anything correctly, I made no comment on any of that - I said just read what she said yourself which shouldn't be a controversial thing to say when it comes to debating what someone said. You also didn't provide any evidence, you just kept claiming I said things I didn't, and I also am not the one that got upset and started throwing insults. You're looking for a fight out of nowhere and I'm going to stop obliging you.

It's never a bad idea to see for yourself what was said/done, rather than rely on hearsay from people on reddit...

All that said, yes she is a transphobic piece of shit.

It looked to me like the other person was literally just saying that it’s good to go to the primary source instead of randomly trusting someone on the internet, and they got upset because of you putting words in their mouth. Just to be clear, I agree that JKR is profoundly transphobic.

Saying "go to the source" in response to someone saying "What part of this is not true?" implies that they will find something at the source that contradicts what they currently believe. Had they just responded to the original person asking about JKR's transphobia I would probably have felt like it was slightly contradicting the general opinion that she's transphobic but it wouldn't have had nearly as strong of an implication

they got upset because of you putting words in their mouth

For good or bad, communication includes implication besides just the text of what we say, and while ignoring that simplifies things it ignores an important part of what we communicate. It makes things like this muddy and open to interpretation, but I don't think it's fair to equate someone arguing with what they interpreted someone's message as implying to putting words in their mouth

I don't mean to suggest that you're saying we should ignore implications, but I've seen so many people try to ignore anything open to interpretation that I wanted to include that bit
