No when the show was originally airing, they had this special version where throughout the episode little bubbles would pop up with interesting little facts about the characters or the voice actors etc., etc.

And one of the ones from the very first episode, states that Zuko was originally planned to be Katara’s love interest

I mean it did appear in the special edition of the show and the writers and creators are the ones who wrote and approved the fact bubbles so…

Also I’m not saying it’s true I was just saying that that’s probably why people say the things in the original comment

I don’t think the idea lasted particularly long during the writing process either way

Yeah plus the way the writers talked about it on the podcast, it was something that like 3 of 20 writers pushed for but was never gonna be a thing
