interesting Sokka is living proof that you don't need to be strong to kick ass.

And I love that first scene. Until that moment, we mostly saw Sokka and Katara bicker, as siblings do sure you can tell they care, but right here, Sokka makes his priorities very clear.
No one hurts his sister. Not even the fucking Avatar.

He was the only one who could come up with a sound plan to attack the Fire Nation on the day of the eclipse.
Sokka was the one they looked to when problems couldn’t be solved with just bending.

I always thought Sokka was being over dramatic here. He went after Aang like an enemy even though Aang was clearly showing strong regret and remorse. Made it seem like he didn't read the situation and just went in for the attack. Though I suppose that's in character since he's a warrior and protective of his sister. But you'd think he'd at least have some semblance of trust towards Aang to get some facts first

Third degree burns HURT. Aang could’ve very well crippled Katara if she didn’t discover how to heal. That’s not something you just write off.

True, but Sokka wouldn't be able to discern that for himself in that instant.

Ngl if I found out someone burnt my sister, accident or not I'm gonna beat his arse especially if it's thst serious.
Like the rage I'd feel for my sister being hurt would definitely overwhelm any semblance of rationality for the moment.
And with sokka it makes even more sense why he would be mad.
There mother was killed by fire benders, his father left them to fight and he promised he'd take care of character . For him to see katara crying and in pain from being burnt by fire...yeah it makes sense he would snap.

You're right.
But it was so hard to see Aang taken down so hard when he is such an innocent person. We as an audience knew Aang never meant any harm. So seeing his own allies treat him in such a way was really hard to see. Especially when his action was something we might also all have experienced once before in our own life when we did something by accident that hurt someone.6

He wasn't innocent in that moment and he did cause harm. He deserved the response he got and the forgiveness that came after.

He is strong, he just has a disadvantage being in a world were more traditional strength qualities are in competition with a pretty potent magic system that he does not have access to.
