Wait, but what about all the air temples?
I vote: Southern: New Hamphire, White Mountains. It's cold. Mountainous. Granite State can make a lot of Avatar statues...
Northern: Colorado, Rocky Mountains. Free spirited non-airbenders abound. They're inventive and kinda stinky...
Eastern: Tennessee, Great Smokey Mountains. Lots of creeks. You know someone living there drinks onion banana juice...
Western: Arizona, Mesa Verde. Pueblos in cliffs are a lot like the upside down cliff temple...
