Harry Kane?

News Simon Rolfes on the decision to sack Erik Ten Hag: "We sat down last week + this weekend, regardless of the result. We had the feeling that things were heading in a wrong direction. Before we reach the wrong destination, we made the decision now during the international break, at an early stage"

... the decision to part ways with ten Hag: "We sat down last week and also over the weekend, regardless of the result, and just had the feeling that things were heading in a direction that wasn't the right one. Before we reach the wrong destination, we decided to make the decision now during the international break, at an early stage."
... the reasons for the move: "It's certainly based on the impressions from the pre-season and the first few games, that we had the feeling we had to do it now. I'm certainly not going to go into every last detail. What's fundamentally important, because we have a lot of new players, is that there is clarity on many points and that the direction is clear. And we were missing that in some areas. That is a decisive point."
... the expectations for ten Hag: "We're not naive in thinking that everything has to work immediately after so many changes. It's a process for good players to become a really good team. For them to harmonize on and off the field, to form a strong unit again. That's a process that requires a lot of work, but for this process, it's important that there is clarity and guidance. That was the motivation."
... ten Hag's reaction to the news: "He was surprised and also disappointed—that's human. It wasn't easy for us to make this decision either. It was also difficult to do. But I am convinced, and so is Fernando (Carro, CEO of Bayer 04 Football GmbH), that when you recognize things and have a position, you also have to act accordingly. That's what we did."
... the assessment that it was his mistake to hire ten Hag: "Yes, of course. Definitely in the context with Bayer 04. When you make decisions and bear responsibility, you also make wrong decisions. But if you then believe you are at the point where it can't work in the future, it's an even bigger mistake to let it continue. Then we, and I myself, have to admit that the situation is just not what we both imagined it would be. Sometimes that's tough, but it's fairer to draw a line early."
... the exact timing of the separation: "We sat down with him this morning. It's important to me, even if there's disappointment, to do it in person. That's why we did it this morning. It wasn't dependent on the weekend's result or any knee-jerk reaction. These are things that, based on our insights from pre-season and the subsequent course of events, led us to say: Okay, the international break is the right moment to do this."
... ten Hag's assistants Andries Ulderink and Rogier Meijer taking over training: "The coaching staff will remain for now until we have a final solution for how we will proceed in the next period after the international break. They will take over training for the time being."
... an internal or external successor: "We are, of course, evaluating internal solutions just as much as external ones. For many positions in sports or scouting, we often fill them internally. With a coach, that's not always the case. Fundamentally, we are evaluating both situations. The question is: What is important now for the team? What is important for the club? For the near future?"
... the desired profile of the new coach: "Definitely that the processes are clear, which I mentioned earlier. Clarity, also leadership, and how we want to play football. How we develop stability as a team. These are components that are important when new players arrive. That you find these things relatively quickly so that connections are created between the players on the field and they can do something extra. That takes some time and is also a process. That's completely clear. It doesn't work immediately with new players like it does with those who have played together for years. But these fundamental things—this stability, this clarity, that everyone knows what to do on the pitch—those are the basics that are important to me."
... the question of whether the new coach will be on the bench next week in Frankfurt: "We will definitely have a clear solution on how we're going into it. That can be an internal or external solution. We will definitely have a clear opinion by the Frankfurt game and will try to form a more concrete opinion this week."

Discussion Balcony Seats for Homegame vs Zwolle
Hello guys, I already posted about how to get tickets for the homegame against Zwolle as the regular sale is already sold out. I got the infos to check via Ajax Resale, as I am still a little nervous to not get the Tickets in time, I wanted to ask if there is another Solo-Viewer who would like to share the Balcony Seat Package for the game, because it is a little expensive for me alone. I also still try to make out a plan on how it could be a serious and secure option for both of us but I guess I will sort something out. If you are a football fan as big as myself I think we will have a great time, and I would be open to experience some adventures in the inner city too :) hit me up if you are down!

Discussion Heitinga out, EtH terug?

Discussion Vervangers voor Heitinga

Discussion Lifelong Ajax Fan, first game ever in Amsterdam — How to buy CL tickets vs Inter/Galatasaray?
Hello there,
I’ve been a fan of Ajax for a long time, but I’ve never been to the Netherlands. Now that a player from my country (Oscar Gloukh) has joined Ajax, I finally convinced my dad to fly to the Netherlands. I really want to watch a Champions League match, and I think the atmosphere against Inter or Galatasaray would be amazing.
Is Viagogo the only option to buy tickets for these games (even just one of them)? Can I buy tickets from the official site? Also, what’s the usual price range?
