I started a free trial for Amazon Prime monthly just to try out the music, I mostly shop on eBay, not Amazon. I imported my Spotify playlists and liked songs from Spotify to Amazon Prime Music for a one-time payment of $7.99. I started playing my 49 hours long playlist of Rock, Alt Rock, and Alternative music from the 90s and 2000s that have a large variety of bands on it. First 2 songs it played I had just happened to hear on Spotify earlier in the day, one was Voodoo by Godsmack, the other was a Rise Against song. Then it played Awake by Godsmack (explicit). Then I noticed it kept playing Rise Against and Three Days Grace songs, most always those two bands over and over again. I got in my car and used Android Auto, and it played Voodoo by Godsmack again, I skip it, it played Awake by Godsmack (explicit) again. I skipped them.

I got back home, figured out ok the problem was the auto play similar songs setting, so I disabled it. Then it played VooDoo by Godsmack a third time! I'm like WTF? Does Amazon think I shoot up drugs? Never done that in my entire life. I skip it, then it played Awake by Godsmack yet again! Only this time it wasn't the explicit version. The Amazon music app continued to repeatedly play Rise Against and Three Days Grace!

So I cleared the cache and data from the Amazon Music App. I open the app again, log in, and it plays The Offspring. I'm thinkin, finally, I got it out of that mode. The song finishes... then it plays another Offspring song! I skip it and yet another Offspring song comes on! After that it went to 2 songs from 2 different bands, but after that it played another Offspring song! I'm all out of the 6 skips again at that point. It felt like Amazon Music was pushing the same bands on me over and over again to make me sick of hearing those bands, and to waste all my hourly skips. There was no option to see the queue either, not on my phone app or in android auto. And I'd need Unlimited version just to view the songs on my own main playlist apparently, or remove 740 something songs from it to get it down to the 50 songs limit.

I'm forced to go back to Spotify, AM is broken. Spotify has its own problems right now... main button in Android Auto to see the queue in Spotify changed to "Jam," a new feature I've never used and one that can be hacked. The queue button is no longer the rounded bigger rectangle button in Android Auto, it's a smaller circle button to the right of the big Jam button, just a bit further away from the driver seat and takes a bit of extra focus to push the smaller button while driving. Also, SmartShuffle stopped working that I was adding songs to my main rock and alt rock playlist with. It reverts to normal shuffle most the time now on both the mobile app and android auto, it only works when it feels like it, despite paying for a premium subscription. But I'd rather deal with that mess than this Amazon Prime Music garbage app.

Well, opened AM app again just now, and it played this same Rise Against song it already played not long ago, Ditching this garbage app.

When the new layout update dropped a few months ago, where it reorganized music and pods into “🩷”, everything went haywire with my music.

1. Can no longer search library > artist, because when you do so it displays all the artists’ ALBUMS instead of their SONGS, which then requires you to click each album guessing which one your song is on. NOTE: I’ve done a whole troubleshoot with chat support and it seemed to have fixed it temporarily but reverted back a couple of months later

2. Anyone else have all these random artists/songs in their library you know you didn’t add? Then when you click on it, it’s blank? Guessing these are sponsored artists they’re trying to shove down your throat (remember U2 on iTunes?!). Then there are artists/songs I DID add, but when I unclick the 🩷, they immediately reappear next time I open the app.

3. Loading times take forever when you’re not in the perfect WiFi spot

CarPlay is atrocious, toggling between ambient sound and stereo sound; inability to switch different users without unplugging the cord; asking Siri/alexa to play a song doesn’t work half the time; sometimes on podcasts it will just show a black screen and the play button but it doesn’t play when you press it (you then have to close the app and reopen)

5. Offline downloading picks and chooses which songs can be downloaded

6. Songs that “feature” an accompanying artist are now individually displayed as separate artists

My issue is that I want to get the Family Plan on Amazon Music, but the app only allows me to purchase the Individual Plan and doesn’t give me the option to choose other plans. How can I subscribe to the Family Plan, or where should I look to pay for it? As shown in the images, when I try to view other plans, it redirects me to the Individual Plan payment page.

I'm trying to figure out how the Amazon Music app works in identifying each platform its playing on or if installing a different APK's might make a difference.

I want the lyrics to play thru the entire song.

here is the problem: I have an MStick 4, I download the Amazon Music app from Playstore (not sideloaded). I start playing a song that has lyrics (like Shaboozey "A Bar Song"), it play lyrics for 30 seconds and then switches automatically to Xray information. I've tested this with multiple songs. There are no separate buttons for Lyrics or X-Ray. Mgears Mstick 4 is a full Android 13, Android Auto AI box that displays as a smart tablet on your cars display.

On my Samsung S25 Ultra, the song plays the entire time when I select the lyrics button.. It shows both the Lyrics and X-Ray buttons on the screen. (From Playstore not sideloaded)

On the Firestick 4K Max (1st generation), Amazon Music (Thru Appstore, not sideloaded) it plays the entire song with lyrics automatically. There are no separate buttons for Lyrics or X-Ray.

Solutions:

Are there different versions on Amazon Music apk's that could be sideloaded on the MStick that would play lyrics the entire time?

Is the Amazon Music App seeing the MStick as an Android 13 or as a tablet (or both) and choosing how to display on that device? Any work around ?

Its frustrating. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I couldn’t find that album on Amazon music

I started using Amazon music over Iheart a few months ago. I have streaming fine from my Google Home since then other than the occasional drop out where I would have to start it again. The Amazon Music app updated recently and since then I can not stream from my GH anymore. GH responds that it is going to play on Amazon music still but nothing ever starts. My Android Auto in my car is still fine. I have tried clearing cache on both AM and GH, reinstalling both, unlinking and relinking AM to GH, and of course restarting devices but nothing makes any difference now. I can't find any new settings in either app that make a difference either. Anyone else have any suggestions??

Has anyone ever encountered something like this? I’ll be listening to a radio station and occasionally after a song ends, the exact same song will start playing again. This does not occur for every song but it happens often enough that it’s really noticeable. I’m looking all around for “repeat song” settings but as far as I can tell the radios don’t have it.

This is occurring on the Samsung Smart TV app. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading the app but no luck. Even swapping accounts logged in will still reproduce the issue.

I’ve spent the last couple of days trying both Amazon Music Unlimited and Tidal, plus reading Reddit threads and audio blogs, but I still can’t decide which is the better fit. So I figured I’d ask strangers on the internet.

I own a pair of Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4. Most of the time I listen over Bluetooth, so the quality is capped by AAC/aptX, but I also use them wired with a decent DAC (not pro-studio level, but solid enough). I recently ditched Spotify, great UI and content discovery but lack of lossless and Dolby Atmos (plus constant price hikes) was a dealbreaker.

Here’s my take so far:

Amazon Music

• Cheaper if you already have Prime (which I do).
• Bigger Dolby Atmos catalog (Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, Eagles, etc. that I couldn’t find on Tidal).
• Auto-plays the best available quality (HD, Ultra HD, or Atmos) without hunting for versions.
• Has podcasts (I usually catch 3-4 news shows on my morning commute).
• App feels clunky compared to Spotify/Tidal.
• Shuffle isn’t really random, tends to repeat.
• No option to search inside big playlists.

Tidal

• Cleaner, Spotify-like interface.
• Max = FLAC Hi-Res up to 24/192, perfect for wired/DAC listening.
• Lets you manually pick between different versions (Stereo Hi-Res, Atmos).
• More “audiophile-friendly,” pays artists a bit more fairly.
• Smaller Atmos library, and some albums are missing.
• No podcasts, you need another app.

With Bluetooth, I honestly don’t hear much difference because of codec limits. Wired with a DAC, both sound excellent to me.

TL;DR: Amazon = more Atmos, podcasts, cheaper with Prime. Tidal = nicer app, better control, smaller Atmos library. With Bluetooth the difference is minimal.

This is a song that I added from my own library before Amazon got rid of the feature. I can still listen to it, but can't add it to a Playlist. It's the season 3 music trailer from atla. But it seems all the songs that I added from my own library are playable but not addable to a Playlist.

Okay, so ive been using ChatGPT for the last 6 ish hours, and while its trying to help me its reaching a point where its kind of breaking. I have a memory of a song that i would know and recognise if i could pull it the rest of the way from my memory.
Its turkish or arabic but im leaning more towards turkish, and i recall it being a slow sad type song and was a male vocal. i heard it in 2009 however it wasnt new new when i heard it. id heard it on youtube, the vibe i got from it was hurt or a loss of someone or something or a deep wanting. like a lost friend or a betrayal or something. im fairly certain its spoken in only turkish(or arabic) there may have been a female vocal in it somewhere but i dont really recall a fem voice, i rememeber the male voice. I was seeing the same old playlist over and over and decided to go to the bottom of the list sand work up. I’m finding all kinds of things. The Canadian rock playlist, for example, used to be near the top now it is toward the bottom. I am prepared to listen to some good Canadian classic rock. I’m in the US and shamefully much of this stuff is unknown to us. Thanks to Amazon music and me finding this list years ago. I’m a bit more educated, but I know there are hundreds of bands that I don’t know about.

I have a playlist with 85 songs, and whenever I press shuffle, only about 40 of them are actually added to the queue.Those 40 songs are random and change every time I play the list.

Does anyone know if there's a way to download my entire purchased library without having to manually go through it track by track by track? Online advice seems to think you get a view in the "Purchased" screen of albums but all I see is tracks - there seems to be no way to do as I used to, and download an album at a time. I have hundreds of albums on here, potentially well over 1000 tracks. Is there a script or an app for it? Not trying to get anything I haven't actually bought - my old PC went *bang* so I'm on a new one. It's been 7 years...
