Apologies for yet another Sail post, but I just got my scans back and wanted to share my experience

Nice pics. Where do you get your film processed?

Thanks, had these developed and scanned at Analogue Amsterdam. But Iβd like to try another lab next time. I donβt think Kodak gold is supposed to be that grainy ..

Would you recommend them?

I would. Theyβre pretty expensive for hi res scans but I guess everywhere is nowadays

Yes let's please go back to posts from rich expats asking general questions about what to do about neighbours playing music.
That's way better content to let through than beautiful pictures of this very special event that almost everyone in the city enjoyed and has warm memories of.

If there are 10 posts a day about rich expats complaining about music, let me know.
Also, feel free to add more positive content yourself. No one is stopping you

threating to keelhaul people who just post a nice picture is super positive.

It's a once in a 5 year event, maybe you shouldn't threaten people with death who didn't even do anything wrong.
*edit* the downvotes say that threating to keelhaul (murder) people in this sub is okay.

The challenge nowadays is take a photo where no smartphones are visible...

I just accepted it. And I kinda like how you can see the sails on the screen of a smartphone in the first photo.
Who knows, maybe in ten years will be all wearing smart glasses or something. Smartphones on old pictures would become interesting then.

Love the progression of these Sail posts.
During the event we got daily phone photo sets.
Then the Lightroom crowd found time for the touchups and started posting the week after.
Now itβs the film crowdβs turn to post after getting their stuff back from the lab.

What going on with the color red in your photos?
1
u/aerokhin Knows the Wiki 5d ago
I pushed saturation a bit for the scans and red popped out more than other colours. I kinda liked the mood and kept it.
The colours are not in any means accurate. Not sure if gold adds reds that much.

Best is a relative term. These are the ones I liked for their vibes and decided to share.

That's awesome. Can I ask what you did with post-processing? Highlights look blown out, which should not happen this way on film..
