If there was real justice in the world - after ripping out the Petunias a whale should have landed on them.

"Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.â OK. So you're saying you're smarter than a bowl of petunias. I find that hard to believe my friend.

On another bridge in centrum, where flowerboxes are planted and maintained by volunteers, tourists pulled the plants out with force and threw them all into the canal. Witnesses couldn't stop them.

Just the average British stag party tourist.

Good they domit here then. Been to holiday places where such Brits and Dutch are equally despised. Like this we keep it amongst eachother. I'd say,,report such and give them a travel ban, so to not disgrace their nation abroad. Then they can only misbehave where they are known. Not be an export product of such.

The NL has no consequence for bad behavior. Itâs obvious in situations like this. Could have just as much been an assaulted woman and there would be a lot of words about the terrible situation, but no action.
21
u/One-Confusion-33 10d ago
This is unfortunately true. There's far too little enforcement. Not that it should become a police state, but this is heading in the wrong direction.

u/Megaminisima 10d ago
No idea why youâre down voted
-1
u/One-Confusion-33 10d ago
It probably isn't Amsterdam-like enough. Some would rather see things destroyed than have more control.
2
u/Bon-Bon-Boo 9d ago
Ah, so if a person is seen doing this, then someone can kick them in the nuts with no consequences? Copied and understood.
2
u/Megaminisima 9d ago
Just yell âdoet normaalâ while kicking them and it cancels out the assault /s

And yet, this stuff also happens in places where people get punished severely. Is it worse here than it is in countries where teenagers get the death penalty? I too like to rule the world from my underbelly, but does that actually make for a better place?
Plenty of people are assholes and idiots, that's not going to change. Better to accept that fact and mitigate consequences for society. Sometimes that means locking them up, but mostly that means replanting the flowers and appreciating that you're not like them.

u/misbehavingwolf 10d ago
Just rest knowing that whoever did this likely has a pretty shitty life right now and this is a sign.

the fraternities are not destructuve to public property only to themselves. . . This cunt has anger and hate towards beauty, nature and goodness.
17
u/Feeling-Building9072 10d ago
Last time I saw frat bros with their slick back geld up blonde hair was breaking and throwing random shit at the walls so no
-19
u/Ch_Ams 10d ago
Sounds like you have an issue with blond hair there buddy... if they were breaking something it was theirs to break. The fraternity code is very clear on respecting the city and public property.

Wonder why such is even in the code? And still some will. Age, alcohol, things happen. Just a risk age group for such. We are not even an unique species in that sense.

u/DeHarigeTuinkabouter 10d ago
What exactly are you basing that on? Never seen hazing involve acts like this. Lmao my frat would have them replant every flower and clean the bridge
5
u/cowgary Knows the Wiki 10d ago
Probably because this was next to the university and they had a big party this weekend
4
u/DeHarigeTuinkabouter 10d ago
Just dumbass students then. Hazing generally doesn't happen at university parties. Heck the kind of people who are in frats probably aren't as likely to be at uni parties in general.

u/Ch_Ams 9d ago
It's amazing to see how people are speculating about who the cunt is who did this.... everyone is showing their bias.... its tourists, its frat boys, its muslims, its white people, its women, its drunk people.... great experiment for having people share their (not so secret) bias!
7
2
u/nico87ca 9d ago
Just listing the usual suspects doesn't necessarily mean you're bias though.
Like I doubt a father and his 7yo walked out at 2am to pull out flowers.
-1
u/Ch_Ams 9d ago
Isn't it though? What is the expectation of a group being a usual suspect based on? Fact or bias?
As a matter of fact a portion of vandalism is committed by otherwise seemingly upright citizens that think they can get away with it. Psychologically it is an outlet for such individuals to cut loose from the rigidity of following rules and doing the right thing all the time ( much like trolls on redit). Further more - Who says it happened at 2am? Lots of assumptions here.... are they fact or bias driven?

u/gothammutt 8d ago
Iâll play along ⌠my first thought was âbored teensâ. But Iâm NYC biased. We generally donât have issues with tourists, frat boys, Muslims, etc, etc, etc.

We are legit turning into America if this keeps up with how soft our laws are. People can just destroy stuff and run away and there is nothing victims can do about it.

The plants are cut and ripped, not uprooted. So this is a total loss.
-19
u/Single-Astronomer-32 10d ago
Just putting it back and cleaning up the mess would have been more helpful then complaining on Reddit. Next to that most of the plants would live on fine.
10
u/Megaminisima 10d ago
And here we have an example of the problem in society. A person points out a problem and then is held to the same regard as the criminal. If I see someone kick a dog and I say âyouâre kicking a dogâ am I to blame as much as the animal abuser? Fuck off u/Single-Astronomer-32

Wondering if others think these smell bad, especially when it has rained. Sometimes I cycle/walk past those flowers and they smell rancid.
