On a serious note: if everybody would stop having sex for a 100 years, wouldn't the human race go extinct?

Sex isn’t necessary for pregnancy. The question is if we can maintain the human race using IVF only. I think so, but I’m not fully sure.

On paper absolutely: I think it's an experiment worth exploring though, as there are rare examples of post-menopausal women conceiving - though admittedly none of them over 100 years old documented - and there are multiple examples in nature of "life finds a way" resulting in species flipping their sex to ensure procreation.

It's absolutely not just because I'm a misanthrope, no no no...

If we’re extinct we probably won’t be passing around STI unless we’re replaced on Earth by a race of near-human necrophiliacs. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Theoretically you can use artificial insemination mixed with carefully curated, "supplies" to make sure to impregnate clean women with clean seed to avoid any sex and avoid the transfer of STIs

I would actually say no. The average life span of a human is about 80 to 100 years. There are billions of us on this planet at different ages.

I think it would take a lot longer than 100 years for us to just die out due to our sheer numbers.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm, but if it isn't, after 100 years, the youngest people would be 100 years old, and I don't think they would be able to reproduce. So practically, the human race would go extinct.

Honestly, I just woke up when I typed that. That was genuine sleepy stupidity on my part.

That's exactly my point.
