You can do it for the racing horses lore.

They are based on real life horses and a lot of their personalities that made the horse famous and beloved are translated into the anime girls.

To be fair, it's superhuman track and field.

Umas get their own lane because they can travel faster than cars safely (lot easier to stop when you're not tonnes of metal); track would be way more fun with that kind of speed.

Tachyon has a degenerative leg condition. And completely fucks her legs in this race and has to retire, the real Agnes Tachyon only ever raced 4 races and won them all which is what’s this is inspired by

It’s why Tachyon is a scientist she’s desperately searching for a cure for her condition. And if she can’t find it she wants to see what the limits of her body are before it collapses. Tachyons mental health is DOGSHIT and she’s a very self destructive girl
