News (Official) Nagash Resurrection

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/wqnmt55k/ride-roughshod-over-your-foes-and-summon-nagash-from-the-ether-with-new-nighthaunt-armies-of-renown/

There is a new Army of Renown for Nighthaunt focused on a ritual to resurrect Nagash. Technically we knew about this since yesterday since the Nighthaunt battletome leaked, but I knew that Warhammer Community would make an official post on the Nighthaunt AoRs so I decided only to bring this up now.

The leaked rules pages don't really have much more info on this other than "ritual to bring back Nagash", but we do get a quote from a witness.

>'At first, it was little more than a hunched shade, ominous and indistinct. But then it grew, became tangible, as if feeding off all the terror and death. Gods... it was him. Elder Bones returned!

>Fusil-Major Deveran of Glymmsforge.

News (Official) Helsmiths marching through the Adamantine Chain!

So if you didn't notice GW has recently started a little competition where you can win a copy of the Helsmiths of Hashut army box if you submit the results of a game with a certain battleplan. The thing is, it is actually written to have fluff foreshadowing the incoming arrival of the Helsmiths.

From the battleplan itself:

>War is no stranger to Aqshy’s Adamantine Chain. Where its mountain passes are not roamed by savage warbands or haunted by the restless dead, they have been fortified by the armies of Order. Yet recently, many forces in thrall to Chaos have been seen trying to clear a path through the rock-strewn passes. In the distance, the earth shakes to muffled explosions and the tread of marching boots, and above, a great cloud of ash drifts, taking the shape of a glowering bull’s head. Perhaps it would be best to strike pre-emptively at those seeking to open the way…

Then we get to see more of this stuff in the actual submission form (the submission form is the same for the regular battleplan and the Spearhead rules, by the way), which is flavored as a report from a Chaos warband to the Helsmiths.

>The armed delegation arrives at your warcamp just after dusk falls. You hear them coming from afar; the stomp of ironshod boots, the clang of weapons striking the earth in rhythm. Banners hang heavy and solemn, etched with strange sigils that glow like branding irons in the night. Amongst the arrivals, a herald steps forth, bedecked in jewels and polished armour.

>‘I bear a slate marked with the seal of the masters of the Forge Anathema. Heed and obey.’

>The herald sneers, tusks protruding amidst their immaculate beard. Their eyes glow a dirty forge-orange, twin cores of some infernal mechanism burning hot. At their side a hunched and muttering grot chips words into a basalt slate.

>\*‘In their unbending wisdom the glorious scions of the Bullfather have demanded tribute of service. State now for posterity your position amongst the tribes of the Adamantine Chain. Do not speak falsehoods. We will know.’\*

[Insert answer about how long you've played AoS here.]

>**‘Your desires are irrelevant.’ The herald snarls the words, a hammer-blow against the thick air. ‘Your purpose is solely to enact the will of your betters. Your Everchosen has decreed it so. Now, speak of your progress in clearing the valley’.**

[Insert answer about opposing Grand Alliance here].

>**Petty excuses.’ The words are spat as the herald taps a sharpened nail upon one of their many, rune-carved rings. ‘The masters are concerned only with results, worm. Did you accomplish the task?’**

[Insert Chaos victory or defeat here]

>The herald’s regard is withering. It is as if you are being fed into a stone-crushing engine, ground down to your rawest and basest elements. Then, without warning, they turn on their heel – their grot scribe spitting on the ground before following – and march away. Their final growl fills the night air.

TL;DR Archaon is ordering the opening of passes through the Adamantine Chain so the Helsmiths can march their armies through.

No one shared this yet. It's like, parched as a desert in terms of lore. But the Ikon of the Sea's gremlin energy, pose, and art reminds me of the old school, silliest versions of Marvel's Green Goblin.

So I wanted to curse all my friends and acquaintances with that lingering since that the Ikon looks like a silly supervillain.

Have a beautiful day.
