Hey all,
Sorry if this is not the right place to post this, I will happily move it over if there's a space for this, but I wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience and if they found a solution.
I purchased a $200 dollar gift card at Target (what to me is an obviously authorized seller), and when I got back home and tried Redeeming it said "Code Invalid".
I went back to Target and they told me that they couldn't help me with that and that I would need to talk to Apple Support. I reached out months ago and they told me to submit the Gift Card (front and back), the Receipt, and some other info like Apple Account and when I bought it.
After a few days they told me they needed more info, and had me write the Case ID on the Receipt. They also asked for a picture of the Gift Card envelope / wrapper, which I had thrown away at the time cause I thought it was just a wrapper and I wouldn't need it, so I told them I didn't have it but I did send the picture with the case ID on the receipt along with new pictures of the card next to it.
The support request was denied. I escalated it, or tried to, and after a few days got the same message, and when asking for the reason why it was denied, the support agent wasn't able to actually say anything about it.
I know $200 dollars might not seem much to them, but it's a lot of money, and I am truly hurt by their disregard of this, lack of information, and the fact that just like that I got scammed out of 200 dollars by Apple themselves.
I'm truly hurt, and I have no idea what else I can do. I wanted to know if anyone had gone through something similar?
Is it truly just a "lesson learned" moment, don't trust Apple with money that doesn't go directly into your balance? This has been truly eye opening and I am full of disappointment.
