🌞🌊 Goodnight Summer: A Lake Michigan Farewell 🌊🌞

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

🌞🌊 Sun Setting On Lake Michigan 🌊🌞

The last bit of sun melts into the horizon, the water ripples of gold and copper, and I feel the sand still warm beneath my toes even as the breeze starts to cool. The air is thick with the scent of lake water and driftwood, and for a moment everything feels suspended, like the world has slowed down just to let me breathe it in. Behind me, I hear laughter float across the shoreline, a reminder that the night is only just beginning.

Do you have a favorite memory of watching the sun disappear into the water?

My Art Getting back into art/my first collection

I’m getting back into art/drawing again after not feeling any strive or passion to create anything after roughly 3 years. I thankfully got over the most difficult depressive episode of my life in mid July that started in May.

The first two are what I’ve done in the sketchbook my mom gifted me earlier this year. I’ve been using various mediums and supplies I’ve been gathering over the last month as I’ve felt more compelled to create again.

The rest are a portion of my first collection with my established artistic style that spanned from 2018-2022, this started the year after I graduated from high school. I went through a lot during that time and was pouring myself into my work, as I’ve only ever wanted to be a creative mind. I’m a lifelong artist and musician/drummer. I made dozens of pieces over those years and sold, traded and gifted many to family, friends, coworkers and strangers. All original works.

I’d love for people to share what they see/feel when they look at my work. I don’t care necessarily how many people view my work, I just want to know what thoughts it provokes to a new viewer. I’m also interested in positive/constructive feedback. I’m open to answering any questions as well.

Thanks for looking.

My Art Kanuma, Charcoal Landscape Drawing

First time drawing a landscape with charcoal. Willow charcoal, Winsor & Newton medium charcoal pencil, and General's Charcoal White pencil on gray A4-sized Canson Mi-Teintes paper.

I like how using willow charcoal almost feels like painting with a dry medium.

Reference found on Street View.
