Cuisine Are these drink powders only popular in Croatia?

Post image

Have been to HR a couple of times, but I have noticed just now these... basically sugar and aroma and EVERYONE is drinking it o_O (Guess these add a lot to the overweight problems around here.)

Is this solely a Croatian thing or a Balkans way of life, folks?

Popular in all Ex Yugoslavia. Some ppl don't understand it's developed as a food supplement, so not to be ingested daily in great quantities.

I am not sure about that, but daily recommended dose still stands.

You can't overdose it. They removed all fat soluble and left contains water soluble vitamins. For that exact reason.

Ingesting water has it's limits...

Stay safe and healthy, but don't just exercise and eat right. Do some drugs too. Live.

Cheers!

Actually you can live a little in other ways that don't include destroying your body

u/Spiritual-Ad-8265 Jul 13 '25

I have been physically active my whole life, but I have also experimented with many substances.

I am not saying do fentanyl lol... Smoke a joint, get drunk sometimes...

u/yusufee Croatia Jul 13 '25

Contrary to popular belief, that's still very bad. And once again you do not need it to have fun or even to have the same amount of fun

Oh dude... Chill... I don't care about yours or any religion. I had sex before marriage. Many times.

Read a book, hike a mountain, mastrubate, do shrooms, LSD, cliff dive...

What's bad about it? Cause your stupid fairytale book says so?

1

u/yusufee Croatia Jul 13 '25

Who the fuck said anything about religion? I never was or will be religious. I'm talking about health, and long term happiness. Doing LSD isn't going to lead to either of those.

LSD will definitely lead to mental and physical health.

Don't talk about things you know nothing about.

1

u/yusufee Croatia Jul 13 '25

LSD can harm the body in different ways and lead to health problems such as: Increased heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, and body temperature. Sleeplessness, loss of appetite, tremors, sweating. Mental problems, including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia

Idk vro

It‘s not a thing in Kosovo

2

u/Elion04 Kosovo Jul 10 '25

Yeah I can confirm I havent seen any of these before in my life and I've lived here for 20 years.

Maybe they exist somewhere but never seen anyone buy or consume one of these either

3

u/Elion04 Kosovo Jul 10 '25

Which is very odd as former yugoslav companies are very popular here

2

u/RockyMM Jul 10 '25

Very interesting. In Serbia we’ve been drinking Cedevita for as long as as I remember. It’s quite popular in coffee shops too.

They were more prevalent on supermarket shelves before 2015(especially during the 2007-2008 financial crisis), but still not that common. The 100% import taxes on Serbian products during the Haradinaj 2 and Kurti 2 governments combined with the expansion of domestic fruit juice producers basically wiped them out.

u/Spiritual-Ad-8265 Jul 10 '25

Really?

Maybe ask an elder.

2

u/idcris98 Jul 10 '25

Maybe but I‘ve personally never seen this and I‘ve lived there for a couple years (maybe I didn‘t really pay attention to it idk).

1

u/Spiritual-Ad-8265 Jul 10 '25

I really don't know why Kosovo would be an exemption.

We've all had Cedevita on our store shelves and loved it.

Still do.

1

u/idcris98 Jul 10 '25

I‘ll be there next week again, I‘ll ask around, maybe it‘s just me.

Only if you have a hangover

1

u/Spiritual-Ad-8265 Jul 11 '25

Definitely a bit more in that situation, but not during winter.

My friend found out the hard way lol

3

u/Dizzy_Arachnid4292 Croatia Jul 10 '25

May I know what happened to him? I heard that you could get kidney stones/problems if you consume too much, always wondered if thats true

0

u/Alone-Monk Slovenia Jul 11 '25

Nah she just threw up some. But she didn't have a habit of consuming too much it was just a one time thing
