Cuisine Are these drink powders only popular in Croatia?

Post image

Have been to HR a couple of times, but I have noticed just now these... basically sugar and aroma and EVERYONE is drinking it o_O (Guess these add a lot to the overweight problems around here.)

Is this solely a Croatian thing or a Balkans way of life, folks?

Yeah I can confirm I havent seen any of these before in my life and I've lived here for 20 years.

Maybe they exist somewhere but never seen anyone buy or consume one of these either

Which is very odd as former yugoslav companies are very popular here

Very interesting. In Serbia we’ve been drinking Cedevita for as long as as I remember. It’s quite popular in coffee shops too.

They were more prevalent on supermarket shelves before 2015(especially during the 2007-2008 financial crisis), but still not that common. The 100% import taxes on Serbian products during the Haradinaj 2 and Kurti 2 governments combined with the expansion of domestic fruit juice producers basically wiped them out.
