September has rolled around again, and it's getting perilously near to the time I have to think about going back to work;-)

But summer is not over yet!

I really like Gothenburg,it has a nice vibe, good walking, lots of parks and bars, temperature is mild as well (pretty cool at night, for me anyway!).

It's quite expensive of course to eat in restaurants but the hotel we're staying in has breakfast included and also a guest kitchen, which is really useful.. there's a good market and a supermarket just up the street.

The small islands of the archipelago are beautiful,in the true Nordic style.Very green, lots of forest and well maintained walking trails.

The Inktober 2025 prompt list is out! which means it already September, yikes. Anyone want to join in with me this year? It's really fun, I promise. Last year's list was a bit meh but this year it looks much juicier.

The clothing store at one of the recycling centres in our city is absolutely amazing, like genuinely. I have never seen anything dirty there, seems like all the clothes are washed and cleaned up super well, and everything is super cheap there. Last year I bought a high quality wool overcoat for 15€ and today I found a navy trench coat, something I've been looking for, and paid only 8€ for it. Also, everything is so organised and clean there, no clutter, it genuinely looks like a clothing store you'd find on the high street. It's so great that on the overcoat and jacket racks everything is organised by colour.

Poor selection of men's shoes, though. I'm still looking for loafers, but there's almost always none there. Today there was a few pairs, but they were both size 39, which is way too small for me.

Isn't buying second hand shoes a bit icky? I have no problem with clothes, but shoes put me off (since they're not as easy to clean)

Isn't buying second hand shoes a bit icky?

I mean, if one pair doesn't keep you warm enough, I guess another one doesn't hurt?

(this joke might only work in German :D)

Depends on the shoes, I think. More fancy shoes are better to buy used because they're not worn as often. Would I buy somebody else's old running shoes though? Probably not.

Do you guys like avant-garde music? I know, me neither. But I came across this piece by George Crumb called Vox Balaenae which is the oddest combination of piano not really played like a piano and flute not really played like a flute a squeaking cello, which is supposed to imitate whale sounds in the ocean. I know I am not selling it, but I kind of really got into it. Headphones recommended.
