I just launched a GoFundMe with all the details, but I'll post the link and the story below to make it easy on everyone.
Slight TW for anybody who is uncomfortable reading about injuries (I don't go into detail or anything, just a heads up).

Story:
Hi everyone! I'm Julie, and this little fuzzball is our best boy, Apollo. Apollo turned 14 earlier this month, and we've had him for 13 of those years.
2025 has been a rough year for Apollo.
End of 2024, we found a divot in his eye with an ulcer under it. Over the course of five months, we worked with our primary vet to treat it and try to medically heal it. It never really healed; it just got to the point where it was stable and not bothering him. He's partially blind in that eye, but otherwise good.
Then in March, we went to the vet for the annual check-up, found a mass, and had it removed. Fortunately, the biopsy on that came back as benign.
Two weeks later, he seemed really off, and we thought we were going to lose him. We rushed him to our primary vet, and she told us he needed neurology to diagnose. So we left our vet's office and drove across town to the Animal ER where they have a neurologist on staff. Blood tests, x-rays, an ultrasound, and an MRI later, we found out he had a severely herniated disc in his neck and needed surgery to fix it. Two days later, he went into surgery, and eight long, difficult weeks later, he was given an A+ in healing by the neurologist. (Biggest shout out ever to Dr. Hagler of Austin Pet Specialists!)
And now, we're here. Remember the injured eye? At some point in the past few months, the divot pushed out and became a bump. Over the weekend, Apollo was in pain, so I rushed him to our primary vet again. While checking out his eyes, we noticed there was a mound of goop on his eye where the divot/bump is.
Today, August 26, we went to the Animal Eye Care Specialists where we confirmed his eye has ruptured. His vision prognosis is poor, and we have to remove the eye. So we're doing that on Thursday, August 28. He's going to be our little Pirate Boy.
All of this to say, it's been an emotionally and financially draining year. We're setting our goal at $10,000 (which I know is insane), but that's a little under half of what all of this has cost us. My partner is currently unemployed, and we're both digging into whatever funds we have squirreled away to make sure Apollo is taken care of.
I'm not sure we expect to hit the goal, but any little bit helps. All funds received here will go to the CareCredit and ScratchPay accounts that we have used to make all of these surgeries possible.
We thank you for taking a minute to read this. Even if you can't help with funds, please share with your friends to help spread the word.
