Honestly if he had still been around I feel like he would’ve been the “cool great-uncle” for Korra, maybe then she’d have been more prepared for being the Avatar with advice from him about how Aang did things, because oddly enough that never really gets expanded on in the main Legend of Korra outside of Season 1 and the appearance of characters from ATLA in their old age.

Yeah it definitely felt like Korra was on her own for most of the show and even when she had her friends with her nine times out of ten the advice they could give her would be rather limited it certainly seems like she could’ve used more ATLA era teachers in her life especially someone like sokka given his more grounded personality
