*kills Aang with lightning

"Oops. I guess the challenge was too much."

u/nixahmose Apr 26 '25

“Quit being a drama queen, Kyoshi got hit 8 times and she lived.”

51

u/writer_r26 Apr 26 '25

“in the oldin’ days” type of shii

14

u/genriko8 Apr 26 '25

is...is that a Scary movie reference?

14

u/nixahmose Apr 26 '25

No but if its a funny coincidence if that's how it comes of as lol

I was just joking about how canonically Kyoshi survived taking 8+ consecutive lightning blasts.

6

u/Ragna_Blade Apr 26 '25

While holding metal fans and wearing armor that amplified the lightning

10

u/nixahmose Apr 26 '25

Actually ironically enough the metal fans and armor were the only reason she survived. The blast to the fans messed her badly and almost killed her, but the most of the electrify stayed centralized in her fans and hands. All the subsequent blasts to her armor were basically just swinging metal baseball bats at her back(so still pretty painful) as the cloth padding between her body and armor kept the actual electricity from touching her skin.

6

u/slimey_frog Apr 26 '25 edited Apr 26 '25

Metal armour may very well actually help protect you from lightning. Electricity flows like water, it will take the path of least resistance to ground itself and metal conducts electricity significantly better than flesh does. (you can find videos of people wearing chainmail near tesla coils to demonstrate this, the electricity will arc through the suit without harming the wearer).

This is admittedly an oversimplification of how the physics actually works, and you'd likely still get burned incredibly badly doing this but its better than it pathing through your heart and nervous system.

3

u/BahamutLithp Apr 26 '25

It's the Faraday Cage effect. They were criticized for not knowing about it when Legend of Korra was airing. It seems they, or at least Yee, took the criticism to heart.

1

u/slimey_frog Apr 26 '25

oh people actually pointed that out regarding the RCPD armour doing fuck all to actually help with the equalist gloves? neat.

I can personally handwave it as affecting Chi in a way we don't understand but yeah that's also been a pet peeve of mine.

2

u/CoupleKnown7729 Apr 27 '25

'Oh why are you people whining. He'll reincarnate and be ready for a rematch in ... fifteen to twenty years.'

675

u/Naive_Drive Apr 25 '25

A great example of how you can make things seem way different by taking them out of context.

u/gamecatz Apr 25 '25

35

u/GoatsWithWigs Apr 25 '25

Why did I think that was Hector Salamanca for a solid ten seconds

24

u/bobaylaa Apr 25 '25

the fit + warm tint + crazy eyes i 1000% see it

7

u/lulpwned Apr 25 '25

I need to see your balls

9

u/gamecatz Apr 25 '25

I see you have been watching Breaking Bad too much

50

u/Cherry_BaBomb Apr 25 '25

Did you know that 100% of people who drink water die? WE NEED TO BAN WATER

17

u/Bosterm Apr 26 '25

Dihydrogen monoxide is also a major component of acid rain.

9

u/Ok_Sink5046 Apr 26 '25

Fish piss in it you know

4

u/Bosterm Apr 26 '25

Not only that, dihydrogen monoxide is used in nuclear power plants and has been found inside cancer tumors.

And once you become dependent on this chemical, withdrawal leads to certain death after about three days.

8

u/DatBoi_BP Apr 26 '25

5

u/Naive_Drive Apr 26 '25

Nazis: did holocaust

Trans people: was holocausted

23

u/Minoleal Apr 25 '25

I mean, 2 of Katara's have no valid excuse...

But yeah Azula's side sounds completely like something she would say in a debate/judgement.

4

u/Kiriima Apr 26 '25

Childish jealousy, nothing to excuse since she grows past it.

1

u/Minoleal Apr 26 '25

A reason is not an excuse.

3

u/Kiriima Apr 26 '25

As I said, there is nothing to excuse.

0

u/Minoleal Apr 26 '25

I have to disagree, I accept that she grew past it but the grievance happened, it has nothing to do that she did better later with the fact that she had no excuse for what she did on the moment.

8

u/yaujj36 Apr 26 '25

Just like The Patriots. “Not to control content, but to create context”

2

u/Naive_Drive Apr 26 '25

The venn diagram of Avatar fans and MGS fans is a circle

2

u/Many-Activity-505 Apr 26 '25

Reminds me of that "King Jauffre out of context" video from a few years back that completely has lighted fake game of thrones fans into thinking he was a good dude

-6

u/Whats_Up4444 Apr 25 '25

Yeah the context is lying.

466

u/skyguy_22 Apr 25 '25

Evil Katara: Prolonging peoples suffering by healing survivors and having them live with all the pain they have seen.

Good Azula: Ending peoples suffering by killing every survivor.

Because context doesnt matter.

60

u/Beastboi21567 Apr 26 '25

Azula is truly a saint.

40

u/Azula_with_Insomnia Apr 26 '25

Azula the Merciful ❤️

17

u/writer_r26 Apr 26 '25

I wanna see evil Katara in action now

1

u/lanester4 Apr 28 '25

There is a really great fan comic of Aang waking up in a reverse world, where the Water Tribe is evil and he has to fight Katara and Sokka with Zuko and Azulas help

146

u/Antinger39 Apr 25 '25

What is the accommodation being referred to here

349

u/waluigieWAAH Apr 25 '25

"Since you can't see, I'm rolling my eyes" or something like that

16

u/MoonLioness Apr 26 '25

Thank you I was confused as well

8

u/Useful-Put1111 Apr 26 '25

that was her mocking Toph because she couldn't see though

1

u/Porfavor_my_beans Apr 28 '25

Yeah, OP is not being serious.

1

u/lanester4 Apr 28 '25

Congratulations, you've found the joke

1

u/zane314 Apr 28 '25

This was not mocking Toph's blindness. This was Azula refusing to let her mocking of her intelligence go unnoticed.

"I am doing a petty thing, and damn it, people will know that I am being petty at them."

8

u/DatBoi_BP Apr 26 '25

Accommondation*

515

u/Level34MafiaBoss Apr 25 '25

This is Fire Nation propaganda

102

u/Beastboi21567 Apr 25 '25

Nonsense this is the truth!

49

u/psychospacecow Apr 25 '25

The best propaganda has a fragment of truth in it.

42

u/suspicious-octopus88 Apr 25 '25

"there is no war in ba-sing-se"

35

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '25

5

u/ThatCamoKid Apr 27 '25

I love how he calls Katara's attention, implying either:

A) He remembers that Toph is blind

B) this was Toph's idea

3

u/CoupleKnown7729 Apr 27 '25

...Definitely the latter.

1

u/CrimsonEdits448 Apr 27 '25

Hold up since when did Aang have a switch & did he always have that on him? 🤨

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '25

Idk

3

u/DLRjr94 Grand Lotus 🪷 Apr 26 '25

Let's be clear, It's a version of the truth... Lol

1

u/DatBoi_BP Apr 26 '25

Then, everything changed when the Avatar attacked.

The funny part is right after this, Abby gave him a good spanking

10

u/Several-Cake1954 Waterbender 🌊 Apr 25 '25

who is abby?

12

u/Karness_Muur Apr 25 '25

Abigail Bartlett. She's in the show that gif is from

u/Glitch0110 i took away your bending and neecaps Apr 25 '25

50

u/Cloak-Trooper-051020 Apr 25 '25

Not all good guys are nice, not all bad guys are jerks.

Not that this is a good example, but just for the record.

32

u/Verdant00 Apr 25 '25

Azula didn’t bully Mai and Ty Lee—she exploited their fears so they could overcome them. Who would do that? A FRIEND. A TRUE FRIEND

Sorry, Katara. 🫠

3

u/tressertressert Apr 28 '25

I read this in Azula's voice.

10

u/AwesomeCCAs Apr 25 '25

Wow, so true.

11

u/amercuri15 Apr 25 '25

The real villain is whoever wrote “Helps to prevent Zuko…” that sentence gave me a migraine.

10

u/Ok-Conversation-3012 Apr 25 '25

And now, we stand up for the Fire Nation Anthem!

9

9

u/AnonymousDratini Apr 25 '25

Miraculous Ladybug fan analysis be like:

3

u/Anti-Hero3 Apr 25 '25

But consider this: Zoe's boring and Chloe was having development, until she wasn't all at once

1

u/AnonymousDratini Apr 25 '25

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or are legitimately making those arguments.

3

u/Anti-Hero3 Apr 25 '25

I do generally prefer Chloe, but the ppl who believe she does no wrong are just lying to themselves

3

u/AnonymousDratini Apr 25 '25

The fact that Chloe was a brat even when she had superpowers was pretty interesting.

I love Zoé though. She’s such a sweetie.

8

u/whomesteve Apr 25 '25

I mean she did those “good things” to be manipulative and passive aggressive.

9

u/MrCheesLlams Firebender 🔥 Apr 25 '25

*Passive aggressively kills Aang

6

u/whomesteve Apr 25 '25

That part was just aggressive, the part where she gave Zuko credit was passive aggressive

4

u/the_owlfan_ps_i_rock Apr 25 '25

Katara damn just realized

7

u/GrizzlyPeak72 Apr 25 '25

Sad thing is people will take this seriously and use it unironically as ammunition against Azula

3

u/Temporary_Cry_8961 Apr 26 '25

How did Azula accommodate Toph?

1

u/Creepy_Living_8733 Apr 26 '25

By describing that she’s rolling her eyes to Toph

3

u/a_sussybaka Apr 26 '25

Wow, I never realized that Katana was evil and Farum Azula was good all along!

3

u/PotentialAd4427 Apr 26 '25

I believe the correct answer is Azula’s father lol

3

u/Smokey_Bagel Apr 26 '25

Alright you've convinced me. I ship Aangzula now

2

u/MrCheesLlams Firebender 🔥 Apr 26 '25

Good

5

u/Disastrous_Horse_764 Apr 25 '25

Azula: Offers the idea of destroying the Earth Kingdom entirely as a way to destroy its people’s hope. All to satisfy her father.

Katara: Helps stop that from happening.

16

u/MrCheesLlams Firebender 🔥 Apr 25 '25

Azula: Helps her father with International affairs

Katara: Fights person with mental health issues

1

u/Disastrous_Horse_764 Apr 25 '25

Azula: Watches and smiles as her/her brother Zuko’s father burns Zuko’s face in front of a large crowd.

Katara: Eventually forgives Zuko for betraying her and allowing Ba Sing Se to be invaded.

15

u/Ms-Gobbledygoo Apr 25 '25

Azula: Enjoys family events

Katara: Forgives war criminals

11

u/MrCheesLlams Firebender 🔥 Apr 25 '25

Azula: Is happy that their father is teaching Zuko a lesson so that he can learn and grow.

Katara: Is really mean to Zuko after he joins the Gaang (Like I mean hasen’t she watched the show or something.)

2

u/tlotrfan3791 Apr 25 '25

This was created by the fire nation civilians 🤨

2

u/jcjonesacp76 Apr 26 '25

So…I’ve been playing a Baldur’s Gate 3 run as Azula so a strangely political dark urge(she’s a tab not a Durge) run (Rip Wyll and Karlach, she killed the grove because Azula wouldn’t give a damn about Druids and find them week!) however as I’m playing the run I’ve had thoughts of her actually becoming friends with this band of weirdos enough so that I love the idea of making a second run for her to be her best self and slay, nice Azula would be cool!

2

u/BarracudaPitiful8976 Apr 26 '25

Some Azula fans actually make these arguments to defend her😭

2

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '25

The Azula-Toph dynamic remained mostly unexplored unfortunately. Seeing that they have several traits in common (misanthropy, ruthlessness, high degree of talent) and that Azula showed a baseline of respect towards Toph it could be an interesting path to lead the series towards. Did the live action series introduce anything of the sort?

1

u/Greatoz74 Apr 26 '25

Not to mention she's the only person to fool her truthseeing. And with a completely obvious lie at that!

2

u/No_Internet_3919 Apr 27 '25

Personally I feel like Katara is more Neutral Good and Toph is Chaotic Good. Aang and Sokka are probably Lawful Good.

3

u/CoupleKnown7729 Apr 27 '25

That is a nice argument you have there.
Unfortunately:

2

u/Weak-Neighborhood159 Apr 28 '25

So people think Azuala is an angel in disguise

2

u/Pentamachina3 Apr 25 '25

What was Azula's plan with Zuko, btw? How did she know Aang wasn't dead? Why did she gas her brother up to Ozai? I seriously don't understand.

1

u/Geralt_the_Rive Apr 25 '25

So that he would own her favors, maybe she didn't know she just suspected it, and didn't want to risk it, it's not like she needs accomplishments

1

u/Pentamachina3 Apr 25 '25

It's the only part of season 3 that I just never understood. Even then, what favors from Zuko does she even need? No way Ozai would crown him Fire Lord, despite being the eldest, and she already had dirt on him because she knew he was visiting Iroh in secret, so like??? What was her angle? Maybe a part of her actually cares for him, but in the flashback for the Agni Kai, she was SMILING watching Ozai burn Zuko, so again, I don't really understand her reasoning at all. Maybe she just wanted to f@#$ with him, like a cat does a mouse.

2

u/Ok_Sink5046 Apr 26 '25

You get a fallback on the wild chance Aang is alive, you have a target if you fuck up since you hold his girlfriend around his finger.

2

u/DingoNormal Apr 25 '25

When the fire nation hires a lawyer

1

u/Evan_L_Rodriguez Apr 29 '25

Gee, it’s almost like one is a protagonist with a narrative arc and the other is an antagonist whose purpose is to incite narrative arcs.

1

u/Useful-Put1111 Apr 26 '25
  1. Azula MOCKED Toph by calling out her blindness. 2. Azula wanted to KILL Aang. 3. She only helped Zulo because she admitted she needed him in the moment and then tried to get him to take the blame when the avatar turned out to be alive.

Katara never made fun of Toph, she forgot she was blind because she saw Toph as someone just as capable as any seeing person. She was jealous of Aang because he learned something that took her MONTHS to learn in just a few minutes, everyone has had that one advanced student in their class that does everything better than them and they naturally become jealous of. Zuko betrayed her and nearly got her crush and best friend killed!?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '25

op forgets katara grew from those mistakes/interactions as well as the others

azula was just manipulative throughout all of her scenarios to reach her own goals

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '25

The propaganda 😂😂

1

I have to respect this absolute banger of a bait post.
