Kya and Lu Ten were unfortunately 2 deaths that,if wouldn't had happened, the war would never be finished

Because Kya sacrificed herself for Katara(the strongest waterbender in the show), eventually Katara found the iceberg Aang was, besides of saving him DOZENS of times

If Lu Ten was still alive, Iroh WOULD have taken Ba Sing Se, and not only the world would lose its greatest defense, but Iroh would be Fire Lord, he would be A ENEMY, and Lu Ten to(considering he was from Royal Family and was fighting in the front lines he might have been really strong)

All just thought of that because me and my friends were talking about the surprisingly large number of parallels between Katara and Zuko, and this just came in the talk

Ba Sing Se being controled, Bumi probaly dead, Iroh would be an enemy, Katara would be dead so no one would be there to find the iceberg(Katara had to destroy the glacier), Katara would be dead so no one would be there so save Aang every single episode or remind people to have hope. Sorry, but NO CHANCES.

Bumi didn't died because he surrendered, just like Iroh, (also Bumi was a hostage); But thats because he knew Aang would still have a chance against them, but Bumi would have no choice besides fight if Aang never got out of the iceberg
