Discussion Since previous "Team Avatar"s had benders of all elements, and Spirits are now a part of the physical world, should Pavi's Team Avatar ultimately contain a Spirit Character?

A spirit hybrid would be interesting. Maybe someone with the ability to willfully fuse and infunde with spirits.

I walked right into that one

That may be pushing it a little bit. Maybe a spirit and human duo that fuse every now and then could be neat. I’d hate to see what kind of mangled monstrosity the character would end up looking like if they fused with all sorts of spirits lol

How about this: Pavi has the ability to purify them after every transformation

I don’t think that would end up working very well. Very fanfic-y to have a character that can fuse with the magical creatures in the world they’re in, but is also able to avoid the pre-established consequences of doing so because one of their companions has the ability to heal them because yes.

Spare me; every idea that passes by this sub is by definition fanfic y at this point. We say it because they’re fun not because they’re likely.

Also, eliminating an established weakness due to a new ability is actually very very common in this franchise or did you miss how Yakone learned to blood bend without the moon?

Avatar is already a spirit hybrid.

Would just lose the uniqueness if there’s another.

I mean not really, since we already know there are other spirit hybrids and a guy with a few animal features doesn’t compared to being the master of the four elements.

I like that idea honestly. Similar to avatar Wan's friend who was possessed.

The new team Avatar would just be Pavi, Geet and Jae.

To start with yes. But I'm sort of hoping we'll have new members joining like in ATLA.

First give me good human characters, then we can talk about maybe including a spirit.

I had this thought for a while. For a fan fic story I wanted to write for the Earth Avatar after Korra a while back.

My idea was that one of their team Avatar members would be an Airbender who’s biologically part spirit for one of their parents being a spirit and they’d come from a clan of airbenders who lived in the spirit world, but migrated to the physical world after Korra opened the portals, leading to their own storyline of a conflict between the spirit-world nomads and the new generation air nomads.

So yes I’d love it if Pavis series had an idea that replicated this.

With Aang, Guru Patik, Jinora and even Bumi setting precedent, I’d assume the spirit character would also be an air nomad, but who knows

Would love to see a spirit being a character in the new Team Avatar. Even a half spirit or someone who a spirit infused their image / appearance on a human as a scar/body deformity like we see with the Avatar Wan episodes.
