Question Is there anything like... Good about firebending? Because in the show it seems to be described as a huge burden and that it's destructive and painful. Which isn't a great image lol

When it's not used in the context of destruction, like in the fire nation in ATLA, its described as light and life. Rewatch 'the firebending masters' and pay more attention to how the sun warriors talk about it and what Zuko and Aang learned after meeting the dragons.

3x16 The Firebending Masters shows a positive side to firebending- it's the warmth that leads to life. Besides that, firebending is the foundation of industry that makes the Fire Nation so prosperous and utopian in Sozin's time. He just perverted that. Fire is life and progress and power.

Many times throughout the series we see it being used for destruction for the sake of destruction. In the context of the show it can be seen as dangerous and destructive and just overall bad. However, in both ATLA and TLoK we see it also being used for a good cause. For instance:
Zuko used his breath of fire to keep warm in season 1 when they were in the Northern Water Tribe.
I'm TLoK Mako and many other lighting benders (lightning being a sub element of fire) for labor.
Jong Jong the deserter most definitely saw it as a burden, "a burning curse" as he said. Yes fire can be dangerous because of it's growing and "breathing" abilities. There are many reasons in real life as well as in the series why fire can be seen as a good element if used correctly. It must be tamed and have a good supervisor, or bender in the context of the show, to watch it and make sure it doesn't spread. Have a nice day!

it’s like jeong jeong says fire is alive you can bend a rock and maybe throw over another rock but theres very little chance of causing an avalanche just because you’re earthbending, firebending ( we see zhao set all his own ships on fire bc hes trying to fight aang in one of the pirate episodes ) is more dangerous because it spreads because the fire is alive it’s not negative it’s just more difficult to handle i mean there’s a reason most avatars learn firebending last you have to have a strong mind and carry that responsibility !! that being said firebending can be used for light for cooking, reheating things and probably drying your clothes as well if you use minimal heat you can use it to boost if you’re jumping and we do see azula fly w her firebending once !! it’s definitely interesting

Zoko uses his firebending to stay warm several times, so it’s a survival tool, which is good.
