Try them on in a shop, I also have flat narrow feet and have been using Hawx xtd for 5 years as a hybrid/travel boot, the ZGTP definitely felt a bit roomier throughout the last.

If you can, check out the Scarpa Quattro XT/Pro. Going to try to pick up a pair this year, I used my buddies and they fit me so well without any molding, they ski downhill similar to the Hawx but the ROM is way better.

Funny you mention it - I actually loved the fit of the Quattro's EXCEPT that due to the location of the carbon reinforcement in the ankles, they can't take a navicular punch. I bought a pair, found them excruciating and unfixable in this one spot, and ended up having to sell em on eBay. Such a bummer as I really liked how they skied.

Good to know are the Tecnicas feeling roomier. Do/did you use the stock liner in the Hawx and the ZGs? The Hawxes were actually pretty sloppy for me until I put an Intuition MV Pro Tour liner in em.

Oh shoot, yeah I've heard the Quattros have a bit of a funky fit but they worked well for me. Really want to pick up the pros if I can find them for a decent deal.

I didn't use the stock Hawx liners much, swapped to a Intuition Tour wrap quickly after new but I've been using a Zipfit GFT for last two seasons after those Intutions wore out, I've put in a ton of ski days in them but now they're a quiver boot as I have some Scarpa F1s for strictly tour days. The ZGTP was stock liner/no mods as I just tried it on in the shop and didn't use. It felt like there was too much volume on top of my foot, so I think they'd get sloppy eventually for me. They might work well for your large navicular though?

How do the Zipfits compare to the Intuitions in the Hawxes? I considered those but couldn't bring myself to shell out the $, and thus probably ended up paying more for multiple sets of Intuitions, lol.

I have low insteps, so volume over the foot isn't necessarily great... except that it might give me room to add a shim to the boot board to raise my lumpy naviculars out of the narrowest part of the boot. This wasn't viable on the Quattros as their insteps were already snug.

Thanks for the input!

Zipfits are incredible with some caveats. I was lucky enough to grab some barely used on geartrade for $185 otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought them. The comfort and hold is superior to any other liner I've used, they fit like a glove and you can keep adjusting the cork pockets as you need to modify it.

They're a PIA to get into the Hawx though with the suggested "racer" step in method, keeping the liners in the boots doesn't work well either as you can migrate the heel cork stepping in that way. They're also pretty heavy, somewhat colder than Intuitions, and don't walk as well but I'm not doing long tours in the Hawx these days anyway. I'd be curious how they fit in some Quattros but I may just move them to my resort boots.

Quattro SL is basically a direct competitor to ZGTPs, worth checking out if the technicas dont fit well.
