People screaming at people for disliking the girl and calling it misogyny. But really it's that her character design so easily creates an example of where it went wrong in the trailer. The cricket bat, her way of speaking in 'gritty' ww2 and the prosthetic arm. Those 3 things alone are way out there in terms of what people were expecting from this trailer. The British Commando is also a great example with the Katana on his back.
If you want to go to the history side yes it's a woman that's not Russian on the frontline but my main gripe is with what I said in the first paragraph. Let's not go "reeee misogyny" because people said something bad about a woman. It will just make us go around in circles.
I’m fine with a strong female lead in video games. Some games have done it right. But the extent they went through with this character and trying to make us relate to her tragic family backstory along with making her stand out so much rather than before where we were just simple soldiers.
It's Battlefield. As far as most of us who've been with the series since day one are concerned the SP is just a waste of hard drive space. Literally not even worth thinking about let alone forming an opinion of the game over.
Of course it does bring up the bigger problem. The trailer was worthless for showing the aspects most of us actually do care about.
The series didn't have SP until the 5th game, the franchise is multiplayer at it's core. The prosthetic is a little ridiculous but apparently it was real and it's just customization in a multiplayer game it affects nothing but your perception.
The gameplay is what's I care about and will determine the longevity of the game. The real travesty is that the info from the jack frags video was way more interesting and should have been shown off in a better way than a bunch of frantic action cuts strung together like you said.
4th game actually. The often forgotten console exclusive BF2 Modern Combat had a campaign. 1942 also attempted to provide a "campaign" of sorts through sequential bot matches but they were just that, bot matches. Really though the only ones anyone ever really cared about were the Bad Company series and that's only because they had personality.
No, I didnt think that because it never fucking happen. There has NEVER been an amputated arm, female, cricket bat with barbed wire that beat nazis with, british, on the front lines soldier.
Wanna know why I know? Because if there was an one arm, pirate hook lady beating nazis to death with a cricket bat with barbed wire, we would have known about her.
Nineteen Eighty-Four, often published as 1984, is a dystopian novel published in 1949 by English author George Orwell. The novel is set in the year 1984 when most of the world population have become victims of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance and public manipulation.
In the novel, Great Britain ("Airstrip One") has become a province of a superstate named Oceania. Oceania is ruled by the "Party", who employ the "Thought Police" to persecute individualism and independent thinking.
You're right every single story of note from a war killing 80 million has already been told. And if they want to make one up well thats too fucking bad because everyone knows battlefield games are meant to be simulation games.
Im saying its not outside the realm of possibility and therefor a stupid thing to complain about. Again, Since when are battlefield games historical simulations?
The only other reason to be upset would be that you are angry that women and the physically impaired are represented in your games now. Which would be the epitome of pathetic so surely that isn't it.
It 100% is outside the realm of possibility. We would have known of something this fucked up had happen. One armed girl beats nazis with barbed cricket bat isn’t something you hide.
In Americas modern day army... not in WW2 when your capital city is being shelled to dust every day. Christ get some historical perspective.
We don't know the story of the character they could be a specialist of some sort. This is the stupidest shit to bitch about. Its got nothing at all to do with the gameplay. Nor is it remotely effective as any sort of propaganda like half you lunies are suggesting.
God forbid a woman playing this game would be allowed to play a female character.
Thats a historically accurate prothetic. i don't see any robotics. They used wires and pulleys. Do some damn research before you start labeling everything you see as the closest pop culture bullshit you can relate it to.
Truly game breaking. I cant imagine having to stomach seeing prosthetics in a video game. Lets hope you are there to guide the expert animators on how wire rigged prosthetics are supposed to move.
Are you missing an arm or something? Idk why it’s so difficult to fathom that a battlefield player that has been playing since bad company would appreciate a nice WWII game free of made up fantasy bullshit like one armed ginger women wearing clothes from Fallout: New Vegas. We just want a WWII game where we just get to play as an American/British soldier and kill nazis.
Lol listen to yourself. As if ginger female soldier are like unicorns. As if it effects the gameplay is the slightest. Get over it. Women were in the british army in WW2 and so were people with prosthetics. Who tf cares who they make as the protagonist for the story. Were all here for the Mp anyways.
