Bit of context: Paul Burrell is a free-loading chancer who will do anything to keep his gravy train going.

If you believe his claim about the paper in the bin, I'd like to know where you stand on his claim that he's being haunted by the ghost of Princess Diana.

That being said, King* Charles is definitely living one of the most privileged lifestyles of all time.

Edit: changed it to King

u/Adam-West Aug 06 '25 edited Aug 06 '25

Depends how you define privileged. He’s unbelievably rich. But he can’t ever relax, he has to shake hands and pretend to be interested in about a thousand people a week. And he’s never in his life been to the cinema or a restaurant or any other normal activity without it being a gigantic fan fair. And he could never ever get drunk in front of anybody but his most trusted staff or family. He almost certainly has never had a truly authentic friendship. To see his mum he had to arrange an appointment. I don’t think I’d switch places with him. It’s not the same as being rich and famous like Beyoncé or Bill Gates. I think it rather swap places with anybody in the upper middle class than Charles.

u/model-citizen95 Aug 06 '25

That tracks. She’s a racist too

23

u/JLinCVille Aug 06 '25

She’s not anything now, she’s dead

3

u/model-citizen95 Aug 06 '25

The best kind of racist

12

u/runkat426 Aug 06 '25

This is actually the biggest part of why I am anti-monarchy for the UK. The Royals are people who should get to choose their own life path just like anyone else - to whatever extent we do get to choose our life path - rather than being forced by an accident of birth onto such a rigid path. He would have been much happier getting to be a civil engineer and marrying Camilla in the first place.

2

u/FureiousPhalanges Aug 07 '25

You know they can abdicate, right?

-3

u/sine-and-dine Aug 07 '25

Absolutely hilarious to read a comment from an America explaining why they are anti-monarchy for the UK. Are you aware that your own country is currently the laughing stock of the world?

0

u/NiceGuyEdddy Aug 07 '25

Lol, coming from an American.

Your nation is worse than a laughing stock and you live under a dictator with more power than the UK monarchy.

207

u/TinkerTom69 Aug 06 '25

Poor Charles I will play him a very small violin 🎻

108

u/Adam-West Aug 06 '25

Im not saying poor Charles but would you genuinely want that life?

59

u/SsaucySam Aug 06 '25

I think you underestimate how shitty our lives are lol

Absolutely yes

8

u/Adam-West Aug 07 '25

If you’re really financially struggling I understand. But you could have all the best stuff he has by being literally any other celebrity in the UK. Im not saying he’s worse off than every body else. But people make out like he has it all and I really don’t think he does. I’d take the life of pretty much anybody in the middle class before I take his. People make out like he’s the luckiest person alive and I just don’t buy it

12

u/Puzzled_Record1773 Aug 07 '25

He could abdicate the throne if he found the life that hard. Personally I wouldn't want to be born into that institution but if I lived in a literal palace for a week then maybe I'd change my mind

3

u/FureiousPhalanges Aug 07 '25

Especially when you have the option of just saying "fuck it" and abdicating if you don't vibe with it

0

u/Space-Bum- Aug 07 '25

He likely feels the pressure of tradition and history though. A damaging abdication could spell the end of the monarchy in Britain and then what? We end up with President Johnson, or President Farage, or President Clarkson.

But even if the monarchy survived, William would be thrust into the leading role. Suddenly William would no longer be able to spend what little Time he has with his wife and kids. Likely Charles will go on as long as he can so will gets to see his kids grow up in slightly more normalcy as a Prince rather than if he was king. You have to remember that. The idea of abdication is clouded by the fact you will then be willingly throwing your eldest born into the absolute shitshow and circus that is the British Royal family. You grandchildren will then be bumped up one level, poor George will become the heir apparent and even more restrictions placed on him at a young age. Yes yes I know, boo hoo a flea circus of tiny violins strikes up the sad song.....but when you ask "they can just abdicate" remember they aren't just thinking about themselves when they leave, it's the shtook they'll leave their family in that possibly stays their hand.

1

u/SsaucySam Aug 07 '25

Can't be unluckier than anyone here lmao

-4

u/SureTrash Aug 07 '25 edited Aug 07 '25

Butlers that will apparently pick things up for you so you don't have to even bend down or (god forbid) stick your hands in a paper trash can, or constantly struggling to pay rent and keep food on the table. Hmm, tough choice.

EDIT: Downvotes aren't going to make me sympathize with rich cunts calling themselves "princes" or "kings."

8

u/TheDevilishFrenchfry Aug 07 '25

Yeah just assuming everyone is here is middle class, decent car, 50 grand saved in the bank, eat out 3 times a week, 401k.

100% there are people who would definitly kill to live this man's extremely rich, yet boring and probaly lonely life, over constant struggle and suffering.

5

u/chickenxnugg Aug 07 '25

I have none of those things, my life is constant struggle and suffering and I agree with the other commenter. The opulent luxury and hyper-privilege are just icing covering up a cake made of shit.

1

u/Vin_Blancv Aug 07 '25

I would having a wank in every room of the palace if I were him

54

u/TinkerTom69 Aug 06 '25

Shaking peoples hands for a living ? Yes. Being a nonce ? No

64

u/Clusterpuff Aug 06 '25

For real. people are working 3 jobs to afford ramen and I’m supposed to feel sorry for a guy eating caviar off the back of a platypus with a diamond spoon… because he has to shake hands with other wealthy people for his job? Big fuckin boo hoo

73

u/Same-Instruction9745 Aug 06 '25

That is not nearly all there is to it. You may be rich, but your time no longer belongs to you. Good bye gaming. Goodbye driving where you want. Your entire life is now on display forever and you can no longer do..nvm other guy wrote it all out for you

56

u/RipperReeta Aug 06 '25

I see your nuance and you are 100% right - but unfortunately people won't be open to nuance on a website that rewards single-mindedness.

14

u/xxtoejamfootballxx Aug 06 '25

Or maybe...you and that person both come from a relative place of privilege and you wouldn't make that swap while many people struggling to feed their family would readily make the switch because they already have no free time or money to spend on things?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/Samurai_Meisters Aug 07 '25

lol what nuance in that comment? They outlined a binary situation. It's also completely untrue.

No gaming? Charles gamed all the time, but his games were polo, hunting, fishing, sailing, skiing, scuba, racing, and way more.

Sure, he has obligations, but so does everyone else.

1

u/TheHumanPickleRick Aug 06 '25

Speaking as someone who is unfamiliar with royalty, what would happen if King Charles just decided "Today I'm gonna sit here in my boxers and play Skyrim all day" and refused to do anything else? What happens to him? He's the King, can't he just do whatever he wants?

1

u/HangmansPants Aug 07 '25

You people saying this shit are so delusional.

Like what the actual fuck.

1

u/FureiousPhalanges Aug 07 '25

Well if it turns out you don't enjoy it, you can always just abdicate but they never do, so it can't be all that bad

0

u/playmaker1209 Aug 06 '25

You only see a fraction of this guys life and it’s only when he’s making public appearances. This dude definitely has more than enough time to do whatever he wants to. There’s 24 hours in a day, and you’re acting like he has to shake hands and attend events for 16 of the hours. Also, it’s not like this every single day. He has plenty of downtime, and being one of the most privileged person on the planet I bet he spends it doing awesome things. Well he’s old now, but when he was younger he was.

-10

u/Commercial-Owl11 Aug 06 '25

You meam, like any other famous person? Who fucking cares. Except this guy is treated insanely well for only one thing. Because he was born into the right family, and his blood is royal, so as everyone else struggles to feed their families or buy a home. This guy lucked out and is rich, on everyone else’s penny btw. And the poor guy has to act posh and shake hands and go to openings for hospitals? Omfg.. the poor poor rich royal!!

Fucking bootlicker ass argument from you lmao. Loser energy pitying the ROYAL FAMILY 🤡

2

u/Same-Instruction9745 Aug 06 '25

Whatever you say, little fella.

-11

u/Clusterpuff Aug 06 '25

Another boo hoo tbh. He could not do all that pandering and pomp and display… he chooses to. He’s the king, if he wanted he could take 10 chests of jewels and live in a woodsy forest and fuck a goat while being protected by snipers the rest of his life. He likes the attention

7

u/model-citizen95 Aug 06 '25

That’s not how it works at all. The royal family can’t just piss off with all the money, they can’t even enact laws. Tbh eh know that the second they tried, we’d burn their fucking palace down

Edit: ah, I see you’re American. Makes a lot of sense that you’re talking out of your arse about something you know nothing about

-1

u/Dohko_OC Aug 06 '25

And who is going to stop me? Can he even get fired?

-1

u/misanthropicbairn Aug 06 '25

I don't get it. Being born into that takes all your free will away? Couldn't he just make the decision to be like, I'm not doing that handshake shit no more. I'm about to just chill in my bed and jerk off all day, and play cod? Would the kill him? Would he get kicked out the family? Would they like exile him or something?

5

u/Wavara Aug 07 '25

Would the kill him? Would he get kicked out the family? Would they like exile him or something?

0

u/GMGarry_Chess Aug 06 '25

They didn't say feel sorry, but would you want to do it? Not everybody has to work 3 jobs to afford ramen.

-1

u/Yegas Aug 06 '25

Unfortunately, your comment demonstrates that you’re incapable of doing his job, purely because you can’t withhold your disdain for the rich for more than three seconds at a time.

2

u/b14ckcr0w Aug 06 '25

Swap? Sure!

But being born there? Tssss at that point you end up being a super expensive pet

5

u/thecontempl8or Aug 06 '25

Quite a choice there deciding to defend a man born into royalty, who will never have a single day of hardship his entire life. He gets a life full of wealth he never worked a single hard day to earn, but was instead stolen from people. Most of whom are much poorer than him.

4

u/Bigbadbobbyc Aug 07 '25

Well he does have cancer, pretty sure that regardless of wealth that shit sucks and will never be considered easy

-3

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

[deleted]

2

u/Bigbadbobbyc Aug 07 '25

You said he would never have hardship so there must be a point where having cancer isn't hard

3

u/percybert Aug 06 '25

If it meant never having to worry about paying the mortgage or having enough to live on in retirement? I think I would cope

0

u/Adam-West Aug 07 '25

That does also apply to about 15 percent of UK households though without all the extra faff.

1

u/HangmansPants Aug 07 '25

You literally are saying poor Charles.

Yes I would take that life. In an instance.

You've described it in an entirely inaccurate way.

1

u/Adam-West Aug 07 '25

What’s innacurrate about it?

1

u/duva_ Aug 07 '25

Doesn't mean it's not privileged. There's no finesse about it

1

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

If it's so horrible, you could just abdicate.

1

u/Usual-Ad-9554 Aug 07 '25

That's an easy yes from alot of people....

1

u/paxweasley Aug 07 '25

God no. Not if it means you have to be English

56

u/madmaxturbator Aug 06 '25

that comment is extremely dumb lol. he can do all of those things - they are not disallowed. it would cause some hassles for him & his family, and he likely wouldn't enjoy many of those things anyway.

but he can absolutely show up wasted to an event, and nothing bad will happen to him. he can go to a gigantic fair in america, few people would recognize him. he can go to the best restaurants in the world on his private jet, and he can go to a tiny spot in greece (and again, no one will actually recognize or givve a shit)

people become desperate to convince us that the rich are struggling "just like us" and its the dumbest thing ever lol. some of us are working double shifts & figuring out which one we can skip so we can take our mom to chemo, and these clowns talk like royals have it tough.

36

u/hotmugglehealer Aug 06 '25

He can literally fuck little kids and nothing will happen to him. Want a source on that? Look up his brother, prince Andrew.

16

u/TinkerTom69 Aug 06 '25

100 percent, they did very well at sweeping that one under the rug.

1

u/wholesomechunk Aug 07 '25

His mate Jimmy knew some stuff about him.

16

u/Dodlemcno Aug 06 '25

definitely not struggling just like us in most ways, but in ways we don't get. Most would be smart to swap places with him. My Dad was in the Navy with him and he was a bit of a loner - maybe in that way he struggles some of us do. But I don't think he feels the freedom we do. If he turns up drunk somewhere it would be a media storm that would follow him the rest of his life

It's a silly thing to compare really, and utterly pointless. Plus what the fuck are we doing with royals in 2025. Whole thing is stupid. Why write this? Who am I?

5

u/FureiousPhalanges Aug 07 '25

it would be a media storm that would follow him the rest of his life

Have you heard about what his brother did? The media were pretty quick to stop talking about that

1

u/Dr-Jellybaby Aug 07 '25

He could also influence parliament on tax law changes to make it favourable for himself. Oh wait! He already did that!

1

u/Koki-noki Aug 07 '25

the audacity of that dude saying would swap places,

swap places for a life luxury that no one will ever experience, dude is just a royal cunt kisser

19

u/CylonRimjob Aug 06 '25

Everyone’s life sucks. It just sucks for different reasons. But his ups are considerably higher than the vast majority of the planet, so it’s hard to give a shit.

21

u/BluntTruthGentleman Aug 06 '25

And we all feel so very badly for him, thoughts and prayers

8

u/birdclub Aug 06 '25

Yes I genuinely do feel bad for the royal family. They can't leave because if they do they will lose all their money. Which at first I thought who cares make your own but then I realized no one would hire them and they'd have to go the celebrity route. I seriously judged Harry and Meghan for their career choices but they need to pay for security for one and what else are they going to do but pop culture? And of course they're not good at it. They are doomed.

11

u/Chewsdayiddinit Aug 06 '25

But he can’t ever relax, he has to shake hands and pretend to be interested in about a thousand people a week. And he’s never in his life been to the cinema or a restaurant or any other normal activity without it being a gigantic fan fair. And he could never ever get drunk in front of anybody but his most trusted staff or family. He almost certainly has never had a truly authentic friendship. To see his mum he had to arrange an appointment.

All of which he could have chosen at any point to no longer participate in.

Weird you're simping for a fucking king.

4

u/CariniFluff Aug 06 '25

Boo fucking hooo

4

u/173slaps Aug 06 '25

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume he has access to the top Hollywood level of talent that could disguise him so he would not be recognizable in a public setting. If he did do that he definitely would not be telling people about it.

I’m  an average aware global citizen and I could not pick him out of a crowd without all the fanfare.

1

u/Particular-Kale2998 Aug 06 '25

Shit I gotta do the same thing but I ain't got no palace.

1

u/Geoffboyardee Aug 06 '25

Sounds like a great reason to dissolve the royal family and relieve him of such agony.

1

u/stickybond009 Aug 07 '25

Send him to Texas

1

u/chiefsittingbowls Aug 06 '25

I dont think being stressed out by pretending to look interested all day is an excuse for someone literally wiping your ass since you were born. I definitely agree that I would never want to trade places with him, but the luxuries he's afforded at the expense of the taxpayer are absolutely asinine.

1

u/RepresentativeNo1058 Aug 06 '25

He could change his lot at any time.

1

u/-DaveThomas- Aug 06 '25

I agree, it would be much better to switch with someone insanely rich that wasn't a royal. But his "requirements" and "appointments" are entirely self-imposed. He could choose to do whatever he wants, with little repercussions. He chooses (or according to this post, doesn't) to be the person you say he has to be.

1

u/HDWendell Aug 06 '25

Other people have the same problems but it’s because they are poor and have to work. Tough luck Chuck.

1

u/TheHeroYouNeed247 Aug 07 '25

He can quit anytime he wants and get a real job.

They revel in it, let's not pretend otherwise.

1

u/Acceptable-Dare-6063 Aug 07 '25

That is exactly how everyone in the entire world would define privileged.

1

u/ReplacementActual384 Aug 07 '25

He can totally get drunk, c'mon. I'm sure the guy has an estate somewhere or at least has access to one.

And honestly I wish my parents were so busy that I could just tell them "oh none of your appointment dates worked, sorry I couldn't make it"

And tbh if he wanted to go to a normal restaurant he could just go to idk Florida and wear a pair of sunglasses. I guarantee you nobody would recognize him if he was alone, and honestly he could just be like "nah buddy, I just look like him, I get that all the time.

I mean hell I'm sure he has a secret body double to go to the opera for him so he can claim plausible deniability.

That said, you know what would probably be really sweet? Being the body double for the king. All of the fanfare plus you can always just pull out your ID if you need someone to stop bothering you.

Actually I bet the king has a fake ID. I mean that's gotta be one of the perks.

1

u/empatheticsocialist1 Aug 07 '25

Aww poor baby oh no baby has to get his milkies handfed to him because he can't go to the theatre oh no it's just so sad

1

u/thegoatmenace Aug 07 '25

I went to a play in London once and Prince Charles was also there (this was before he was king).

He was just in a regular seat in the audience and it didn’t seem like people were bothering him. Although I guess the fact we even knew he was there was a sign there was a small amount of fanfare about it.

1

u/leet_lurker Aug 07 '25

He spent 5 years in the armed force, only 10 months were active duty but i assume thats when he did his "independant" living.

1

u/HangmansPants Aug 07 '25

Oh boohoo.

The poor king of England, my heavens.

Won't you think of his feelings?

Fuck Charles and the entire Royal family. They've done far more harm then good to humanity.

Dude also blatantly cheated on Diana and has been an absolute cock to his sons.

Use whatever excuse you want to make yourself feel okay, the dude is a shit bag who deserves zero sympathy.

1

u/duckDuckBro Aug 07 '25

Shake hands? Oh my world! Can’t fathom how much it hurts his royal hands!

1

u/Ttoctam Aug 07 '25

Are you genuinely trying to set up an argument for "The head of a monarchy isn't privileged"? Monarchy is about as privileged as it fucking gets. Yes of course there are downsides to privilege, privilege doesn't just mean everything is wonderful all the time, but the guy is about as close as you can get to the physical embodiment of the concept.

1

u/DrFeelgood144 Aug 07 '25

But perhaps then 3 billion odd people they put into poverty wouldn't mind swapping with them.

The monarchy is redundant and everyone will be glad when they are all gone. Diana was the only human being there and if not for those boys all they would be left with is that molester Andrew and this skin puppet Charles

1

u/TommyPpb3 Aug 07 '25

Oh poor Charles, he’s rich and famous since he was born and didn’t have to do anything in his life to deserve it😔.

1

u/Huge_Station2173 Aug 07 '25

He’s on vacation for half the year. He did 186 engagements last year, and most of those engagements lasted less than an hour. Even if you count that as a day of work, that still leaves 6 months of free time where he can walk around in a kilt and berate his gardeners until they quit. The “hard-working” Royal is a myth. They may work a lot more than the average aristocrat who does nothing at all, but by the standards of real people, they do almost nothing.

1

u/FureiousPhalanges Aug 07 '25

But he can’t ever relax

If they don't like the job they can abdicate

1

u/Unlucky_Ad_9090 Aug 07 '25

So that's you playing that violin, I was wondering where it was coming from. He could have and still can abdicate at any point.

1

u/Dapianoman Aug 07 '25

he doesn't "have to" shake hands with anyone. he could just abdicate and still live the billionaire life. the rest of us actually "have to" work for a living

1

u/dogjon 29d ago edited 29d ago

And his other family gets to rape kids with impunity. Poor poor King Charles. I hear the French have a solution to his problems though.

-5

u/Classic_Knowledge_30 Aug 06 '25

Love how you compare a royal who was born into their wealth to people who at least had to do stuff for their wealth. What a royal bootlicker

6

u/Adam-West Aug 06 '25

Im not a bootlicker. I don’t think we should have a royal family. But there’s more to life than wealth.

-3

u/Classic_Knowledge_30 Aug 06 '25

Sure sound like one

1

u/Encanutado Aug 06 '25

Of course they can go to cinema or wherever, they just usually go to Uruguay or other far away but safe country to do that

1

u/sleepgreed Aug 06 '25

Cant the king change these things? I mean. He's literally king

5

u/Jaded_Library_8540 Aug 06 '25

The king has to follow rules, and a lot of these rules are things which have been around for hundreds of years.

And ofc there's the whole problem of "if you start changing things too much people might realised that they can change you being king at all"

It's not been a case of the king does what he wants since Magna carta, and it's only gotten more restrictive since then.

2

u/Adam-West Aug 07 '25

Not really. It’s purely ceremonial and the institution is much bigger than he is.

-1

u/4n0m4l7 Aug 06 '25

Rich or poor we all go the same way…

0

u/SLngShtOnMyChest Aug 06 '25

He could give it up, it’s a life he has chosen. Whatever the reason he chose it and I’ve no sympathy. Maybe he’s a nice guy, but monarchy is wrong, hoarding extreme wealth even more so.

And please nobody tell me that gives to charity, all the lizards do that.

6

u/havasc Aug 07 '25

Edit: changed it to King

Could you change it back, please. I'm not satisfied with my monarch

7

u/BootOne7235 Aug 07 '25

I didn’t vote for him.

1

u/timsredditusername Aug 07 '25

You don't vote for kings

3

u/ChattingToChat Aug 07 '25

That’s what’s the asterisk is for.

1

u/RealVanCough Aug 06 '25

The Billionaire Class gas entered the chat

1

u/Smart_Freedom_8155 Aug 07 '25

Not a KING?!

Say it ain't so!

1

u/ConstantHeadache2020 Aug 07 '25

Isn’t it all on the tax payers dime?

1

u/No_Bake6681 Aug 07 '25

It sounds like memory care

1

u/missbeekery Aug 06 '25

Love your asterisk edit like it’s a fucking footnote. XD

0

u/split41 Aug 06 '25

I think you’d hate his life personally

1

u/AbriefDelay Aug 06 '25

Only one way to find out

-18

u/Six_of_1 Aug 06 '25

He's been King Charles for three years! I understand the switch took a bit of getting used to but it's not 2022 any more.

0

u/Levardgus Aug 06 '25

He won't grow a protein more than a hoodlum.

34

u/ktart Aug 06 '25

He's so obsessed with Diana, it's gross.

38

u/Powerful_Leg8519 Aug 06 '25

Charles and his penchant for not doing a damn thing for himself has been well know for years but yeah as soon as the clip started I was oh that’s Paul Burrell and he is always full of shit too lol.

12

u/ginbandit Aug 06 '25

I agree, Burrell has a vested interest in this kind of story and is also a massive knob.

12

u/Guy-InGearnito Aug 06 '25

This.

And I don’t believe for a second that Charles said “a letter from the queen” that would have been “one of mummy’s letters” 1000%

Burrell is a w⚓️

11

u/Certain_Television53 Aug 06 '25

A manager once called me over from the other side of the factory floor to pick up a piece of paper.

So, it isn't, beyond the realm of possibility that this happened.

BTW I refused to pick up the paper and walked off complaining about wasting my time.

5

u/xeroxeroxero Aug 06 '25

I cannot read the name "Paul Burrell" and not hear it in either Angelos or Barry's voice.

2

u/DoubleDoube Aug 06 '25

the paper in the bin thing to me has a vibe of, “someone made a mistake that they need to be aware of, aware that I’m aware, and fix.

An actual concern of someone trying to control what correspondence reaches them or not could be a huge deal in the right circumstances.

I still don’t like the guy, going off this one clip. Seems whiny.

2

u/Petrivoid Aug 07 '25

Are we not all being haunted by the ghost of Diana?

7

u/LookinAtTheFjord Aug 06 '25

He may be that, but I believe every word of that clip.

3

u/Ill-Caterpillar1199 Aug 06 '25

Sounds almost like a description of the royal family

1

u/digitalerblitzkrieg Aug 06 '25

Context matters apparently

1

u/cal-brew-sharp Aug 06 '25

I believe he believes he is being haunted by Diana.

1

u/AlDente Aug 06 '25

One of those claims is not like the other. Charles is the ultimate freeloader.

1

u/SnooHedgehogs8765 Aug 06 '25

Even in business with customers that are egregious assholes we never mention names except to close business associates. It's considered unprofessional in every context.

Even if his claim was 100% on point I would consider this person trash. As I tell my kids, you don't use personal issues at home to embarrass them in public, let alone on tv.

Whoose around to tell TV that Paul Burrel wanks into a sock looking at women walk past on the sidewalk daily and once forgot to wash his cum laden sock before putting it on for work one day?

Well it’s not the worst thing the Royals have been accused of, nor the worst thing they’ve been responsible for

I've never had a butler but it seems to me that the number 1 rule for butlers is KEEP YOUR PIE HOLE SHUT. No?

Doesn't look like he's particularly good at his job.

You must be from the UK

u/Ok_District2853 Aug 06 '25

Is that some sort of royal euphemism for masturbating? I’m also haunted by the ghost of princess Diana.

1

u/somethingwholesomer Aug 06 '25

He wishes Princess Di would. Like obvs if she haunts anyone it’s going to be her kids

1

u/Taps698 Aug 06 '25

Yes, Burrell has his own agenda. Charles is no more privileged than any other nepo baby of a billionaire. He has to behave himself in public a bit more but that’s it.

u/SKRyanrr Aug 07 '25

Another grifter and here I got excited thinking the King is a robot

1

u/Dino_Spaceman Aug 07 '25

The entire video sounded like satire. Like I know they are pampered. But that’s just to an insane degree.

This feels like something meant for a comedy program making fun of the royals for a good laugh.

u/Knucklesandos Aug 07 '25

I had a retired Air Force colonel do something very similar to me, except I wasn’t in the military, and I laughed at him and walked away. It does not seem that far fetched that a member of the royal family would behave that way.

1

u/Opening-Blueberry529 Aug 07 '25

King Charles literally chose his own wife as a fk you to the rest of the country. Only a moron would believe he has mo agency.

1

u/Malcolm_P90X Aug 07 '25

You’re treating those two claims like they’re equally ridiculous, when knowing what I know about King Charles the story about the bin seems reasonable.

1

u/Actual-Lingonberry66 Aug 07 '25

I think Chuck is the guy who'll do whatever to keep his gravy train going. Dude needs to get a job.

1

u/Dansken525600 Aug 07 '25

"OH PISS OFF BURRELL, SHE DIDNT LIKE YOU, ANYMORE THAN SHE LIKED ME!" - Charles, (Not really but 🤭)

1

u/HeyGayHay Aug 07 '25

If you believe his claim about the paper in the bin, I'd like to know where you stand on his claim that he's being haunted by the ghost of Princess Diana.

Yeh, I thought it was him. Talked a lot of words and came across as shonky. Wrote a book too.

1

u/PadyEos Aug 07 '25

I don't believe him. Charles used to come an stay in the countryside in Romania. Dressed up like any other peasant in rubber boots. Clean and tidy but I never saw him shy away from doing anything he wanted done in front of him.

As if the royal family would take something out of a bin, imagine the headlines...

1

u/gene100001 Aug 07 '25

I remember seeing a video from some cyclists where they encountered him out for a walk alone, and he stopped to have a little chat with them as though he was just a regular guy from the village out for a walk. That for me doesn't align at all with the idea of him being pretentious enough to refuse to bend down and pick up a letter from a bin. I'm sure he's spoiled and out of touch, but he has never struck me as someone who would behave like that, so it's good that you provided some context

1

u/loaferuk123 Aug 07 '25

In addition, he was literally a butler - he chose to go into service, which involves doing tasks for someone and being discreet. As long as it isn't dangerous or humiliating, JFDI and keep your views to yourself.

1

u/WiltedKangaroo Aug 08 '25

Ohhhh, so America’s DJT.

u/Exciting-Music843 Aug 09 '25

I've just made a post about him and I gave him the benefit of the doubt with the paper in the bin but you are right he is probably lying!

The bloke was a butler to the royal family and then tried to make his fortune by telling stories like this. Pulling a face about doing menial tasks as a butler for the royal family, what did he expect to be doing? He knew it would be stuff like this but now he is trying to rile up the plebs to make himself some cash!

And I say plebs as he is clearly educated and at the minimum middle class, probably upper middle class. Bet his salary was a lot higher than national average aswell!

To sum him up in a word arsehole!

P.S apparently he was born working class! So I'll give him that one!

I do believe his paper in the bin story. Why would be make something so weird and random up?

and Yes Charles thinks a wicker basket that only has clean garbage like paper in it would be dirty garbage and beneath him to touch.

This reminds me of the epiphany I had this year about comedians:

You know when a comedian tells a story rich in details, and you’re laughing and feel like you know them better?

Most of those stories - the ones from the greatest comedians - are fabrications. They’re professional storytellers and joke writers, they don’t need to be honest to be funny. John Mulaney didn’t actually get arrested as an adolescent with two other guys named John.

Paul doesn’t need to be honest to try and sell his book.

Why would be make something so weird and random up?

For attention?

0

u/crosstheroom Aug 07 '25

I'm sure you can think of something more explosive than an envelope in a waste basket if you make something up.

u/Mythrem Aug 06 '25

Better call Ghostbusters

The "royal" family are the world's biggest freeloaders

I believe he is haunted by Diana's ghost. That lady won't go away and leave all of us alone
