Bit of context: Paul Burrell is a free-loading chancer who will do anything to keep his gravy train going.

If you believe his claim about the paper in the bin, I'd like to know where you stand on his claim that he's being haunted by the ghost of Princess Diana.

I do believe his paper in the bin story. Why would be make something so weird and random up?

and Yes Charles thinks a wicker basket that only has clean garbage like paper in it would be dirty garbage and beneath him to touch.

This reminds me of the epiphany I had this year about comedians:

You know when a comedian tells a story rich in details, and you’re laughing and feel like you know them better?

Most of those stories - the ones from the greatest comedians - are fabrications. They’re professional storytellers and joke writers, they don’t need to be honest to be funny. John Mulaney didn’t actually get arrested as an adolescent with two other guys named John.

Paul doesn’t need to be honest to try and sell his book.
