Planning a cultural trip to Podlasie (August 18-24) - Looking for Tatar Trail guides and local recommendations

Hi Bialystok,

My Dutch friend and I are planning a week-long trip through Podlasie from August 18-24, focusing on the region's unique multicultural heritage and religious sites. We're basing ourselves in Tykocin, Supraśl (staying at the monastery guesthouse), and Białystok. We don't have a car, which is proving to be a bit inconvenient, but we're hoping to make it work using public transport and maybe some rideshares.

We're planning to do the Tatar Trail, starting from Supraśl sometime between August 20-22. I've found a few websites about guides, but many of them look outdated and I'm not sure if they're still operating. If anyone has done the trail recently or knows of a good guide or small tour company that's still active, that would be super helpful.

We're also thinking about visiting Grabarka Hill. It seems like a really unique and atmospheric place, but maybe not worth the trip if it's hard to reach without a car. If anyone has been and can share whether it's really worth it or not, or if you know an easy way to get there from Supraśl or Białystok, that would be great. If someone's up for helping us out or joining, even better.

Over the weekend, we'll be heading to Sunrise Festival near Olsztyn, so the Podlasie part of the trip is focused on exploring local culture and religious sites during the week. We'll be in Białystok midweek, from Wednesday to Friday, and we'd definitely be up for meeting people, grabbing a drink, or just hanging out. If there are any events, interesting spots, or places where locals go during the week, we'd love some suggestions. Also very open to tips on where to eat or what to see in Tykocin, Białystok, or even Olsztyn.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out or wants to connect while we're around. Feel free to message me here or on Instagram: u/ewoutwjs

TL;DR: Two Dutch friends traveling through Podlasie August 18-24, without a car. Staying in Tykocin, Supraśl, and Białystok. Planning to do the Tatar Trail, maybe visit Grabarka Hill, and heading to Sunrise Festival near Olsztyn on the weekend. Looking for guide recommendations, travel tips, and possibly people to meet up with in Białystok. Also open to suggestions for local food and culture. Instagram: u/ewoutwjs

Hi!

First of all, please read about Podlaska 8 - it's a new tourist bus line that cost only 8 PLN for a day; it covers many nice places close to Białystok, Supraśl town included: https://bia24.pl/kategorie/wiadomosci/turystyczna-osemka-%E2%80%93-wakacyjna-linia-autobusowa-woj.-podlaskiego.html

Another thing - on Tatar Trail in Kruszyniany is well known restaurant called Tatarska Jurta. My advice is to avoid this place, because it's overpriced, the quality dropped drastically over last two years and for me it's a trap for tourists. They used to be great, I admit.

Hi, my cousin runs Nature Travel, you can check it out if you like bicycle trails, hotel recommendations, and basically whatever you need. She also has a hotel in Białowieża which I think is the best place to visit in Podlasie if you like unusual forest, bisons and natural enviroment. If you have any questions feel free to ask:)
