Pulled this from my separator. Fuel is 10% ethanol. Is that why the water component is cloudy? Or is this some other type of contamination?

Im interested in knowing what the best materials and tools are for a DIYer. Ive done heat shrinking this size on compercial the equipment but we used a weed burner and im going to invest in a heat gun for this application. Any feedback is appreciated 👍🙂

Not sure if this is considered antique or vintage yet but she’s super old . Bought the engine(5.5hp evinrude fisherman) with 14 ft v hull with trailer and working lights for 600$.came with titles etc .had to clean carb , gear oil & fresh mix she fired right up after turning rich setting higher . Took her out 3x since test start . Maybe a hr each ride and still haven’t used a qtr of my 6 gallons after 3 hrs . For a 63 im impressed. With just my girl and I my gps said we hit 12.8 mph .

Just curious if anyone else in here runs shallow rivers with aluminum jet boats? I’ve got a Riverpro I run here in Missouri and love it. Been a great summer.

Is this rust on the trailer tongue a cause for concern? Can I take a flappy disk attached to a grinder and sand it down? I believe it’s aluminum.

Definitely been a bit of a learning curve anchoring this size of a boat (33’) overnight. We have 2 lunch hooks essentially (gonna upgrade everything) so I run them in a V off the bow. Seems to do pretty well.

Spent all winter dreaming about getting back on the water. Finally launched last weekend after what I thought was thorough preparation.
Engine started fine at the dock but died completely twenty minutes out. Turns out I missed a clogged fuel filter during my "thorough" inspection. Had to get towed back by a very amused Coast Guard auxiliary who probably see this exact scenario fifty times every spring.
Now I'm back in the garage with a proper maintenance checklist, going through every single system twice. Spring fever makes you forget how many things can go wrong.
Anyone else learning maintenance lessons the hard way?

Looking for any suggestions or advise on a stabilizer or collar for a 16' V hull aluminum boat.
Thank you,

The left side of the leg produces much more spray than the right. You can also see that the water on the left side curls a little over the back and to the right. This is low speed, but when WOT, the spray is about 6ft on the left, and 2ft on the right. Just noticed it last night, can't say I've noticed it before, and have 55 hours on this engine this season. Boat is a 17ft Zodiac. Motor is a 40hp Merc SeaPro. Transducer is on the right. Doesn't affect performance. Goes the same speed. Handles the same. Hits the same RPM. Just weird

I wanna do something adventurous this summer before weather gets miserable again. I know how to row a boat. But have never done something like this. Would it be safe? It’s not that far

Is this a bad headgasket or just condensation or something else?

Here's a little project I tackled this weekend. The ol' Rinker needed a Bimini top for some shade. I bought one for about $100.00 off Amazon. My hope was to use the two exiting mounts on the side windows that were left from the original top, so I was expecting to do some "modifications".
The first issue related to the width measurement of the top. My existing mounts are 60 inches apart. the new top lists its width at 60 inches. Piece of cake! Except the new top's true width is only 53". After several attempts at bending the pipes wider, I finally reached 60 inches. All the tube connections still looked good so I proceeded.
As expected on the first test mounting, the top was not parallel to the boat. Because the rear leg mounts were now below the middle mounts, the top tilted up towards the bow of the boat. The solution was to drill out the rivets holing the rear pipes in place and slide them down until the top was parallel to the boat.
Once that was set, I drilled and installed the mounts onto the boat.
I had her out on the water today it the top looked great. Anyway, I thought some of you may find this interesting.

I saw a rental pontoon smoke a brand new Malibu who was getting gas today. My apologies, I didn't get a video, as I was busy getting the hell out of the area... I wasn't getting gas til the area cleared 🤣
