You guys are lucky. You are just asked to move away. Here in Dubai, it is a basic penalty of AED 600. Many a times in Sharjah, you wont even know that you are fined and realizes ocne it comes as SMS notificaiton

I hope they implemented that here but maybe with some adjustments first, 600 is damn too high for us the common folks.

To be honest, any fines in the road - it carries minimum 400 AED that equals to MYR 425 and raises to 3000 to 10000 and more.

Minimum is parking ticket 100 AED to 150 AED

We are also normal btw. We can’t help but pay when we are fined.

Ouch, that's scarily steep amounts for me. Btw, can I ask is it common to see people committing traffic infractions there? I mean the ones like in the video; cutting queues, double parking, running red lights, that sort of thing

Yes. Very common and we don’t have police standing there. We have hi-tech cameras installed some places, it is live CCTV. Some other places it is programmed to catch or capture the violation.

Breaking red signal is dangerous amounting to fine I believe between 3000 AED to 5000 AED with the car being confiscated for 30 days and black points. I believe 12.

Ohhh I like the harsh punishment for running red lights, it's quite common here to the point even passing a green light I made a habit to glance at all other lanes.
