Why hear? It wasn't mentioned in the menu? Definitely avoid restaurants that don't state their prices.

I mean roadside stalls dont really have menu most of the time, idk maybe in a big city that wasnt the case cuz if im ordering a chinese fried rice i dont expect it to be more than rm8 so practically no menu needed. These roadside restaurants have the same menu anyway unless the name of the restaurant said otherwise

Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 1967, learn it.

Not putting up prices is in violation of this law, and ignorance is not a defence.

The Act had been amended, it is now the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 (PCAP) ( Act 723 ) which works alongside the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Regulations (PCAPR) 2018 being enforced by the latest iteration of KPDN.

So if i were to purposely order from a store that didnt state prices, could i essentially get a free meal?

It's a single Google Search away. If more people actually did the most basic of searches online and not just blab in the comments, we'd have less misunderstandings and arguments.

Usually if ordering from these stalls I'll ask the price first. Even if they sell CKT I'll ask what variety they have and how much is a plate.

Mann i was eating at mamak one day ( the vibe is not fancy or anything, looks like regular mamak but cleaner) and order nasi goreng 2 with 3 drinks. Imagine my surprise when the total come out to rm40++. Idk why is it so expensive, and surely no sane malaysian would ask mamak for menu😭😭

Not cheap compared to other cheaper mamak option but definitely not exorbitant. Maybe drink RM7 each and Nasi Goreng RM10 each.

It depends on what drink he got, but if its like a teh ais and its not in a mall?

I gotta know what they smoking to have the delusion that they'll stay in business
