Not surprising considering he used to spar with his older brothers 13-14 years ago

Their sparring footage is on youtube for anyone interested

Boots walks around at what weight?

This picture had me thinking it was photoshopped at first lol, Boots might be pulling a Haney. Ik he was massively drained at 147, but if I'm to guess based off this picture he probably walks around in the 170s

Pictures of him before the Stanionis weigh in are crazy. Emaciated and twig legs. Looked like 30 pounds from this picture. His nutritionist is a miracle worker.

My two favourite fighters training together. That’s awesome.

I hope shit gets leaked Ngl. Im a big believer in boots being an astonishing gym fighter. But on the big stage he doesn’t show half of his ability. This is common though. And many great gym fighters or Olympian’s never make it to the championship level.

If boots is there to help him to work around buds strength, that’s probably what they’re going to work on instead of ego sparring.

Yea, it seems as if he tries too hard to show off on the big stage which leads to him making some very questionable decisions. Boots obviously has a lot of technical skills and talent but his fight IQ is questionable at times.

Look at canelos left eye lol boots was def working from southpaw to help with bud switching.

Boots is also switches

u/BobbyTarentino25 20h ago

Yup that’s what I’m saying. The damage on his face probably came from the southpaw stance tho.

Can't think of a better partner to help Canelo private for Crawford.

Boots is very talented but I’m not sure his style translates well for prep against Crawford

In full disclosure idksab so perhaps they know better than me

You can never find someone exact. But boots is a smaller man that's strong, fast and has serious skills. As good as it's gonna get to replicate crawford.

Funny thing is, Boots is naturally much bigger than Bud. IMO, Ennis spent too long at 147.

u/Alarmed-Effective-23 1d ago

But you forgot, Bud is "different " so you gotta add that metaphorical size. 😆

I was thinking the same thing. He looks huge in that picture next to a super middleweight Canelo.

With the photo I saw with him and Canelo standing next to each other, I honestly think he's bigger than Canelo

8

u/Alarmed-Effective-23 1d ago

True. But he has that welter speed. That's what really matters.

It’s perfect style for Canelo to train with. Slick and fast

11

u/Seandelorean 1d ago

He relies much more on his raw power/athleticism than skill when you compare him to Bud

17

u/Big_Donch YouTube: Big Donch 1d ago

Well ya Bud is better. There’s nobody out there who can exactly replicate Bud. He’s an all-time great.

Canelo has seen everything in his career. Over the years he has been sparring and fighting guys bigger than him. As a Canelo fan I am not worried in the slightest about Buds power affecting Canelo, as Canelos chin is probably the best in boxing anyway.

Canelo isn't doing anything to outpoint bud. Bud will be too slick and too fast for canelo. Just watch.

Canelo will stop him or scores a knockdown that puts the fight in his favor

-7

u/AlarmedGrape9583 1d ago

Canelo hasn't stopped anyone in 10 years. He's not stopping Crawford. Crawford isn't moving up in weight to get stopped. Crawford is coming in with a plan and that's to win.

Canelo has struggled with slick boxers his whole career.

Elite, smaller, extremely athletic switchhitter who has the same exact range as Bud. There could be no better sparring partner.

Fights with both hands, thats all Canelo needed from em.

Boots is a big dude

Man is this recent!? Why is there the Canelo Berlanga background

It’s from today, every boxing gym has old fight posters. Crawford has old ones at his Omaha gym too

u/JeanClaudeMonet 1d ago

I may be that canelo was already working for the Bud fight back then. If that's the case, that's some serious dedication.

3

u/newrap 1d ago

I would pay good money to watch footage of this.

If we go by how Canelo has looked recently, Boots probably styled on him

u/BobbyTarentino25 20h ago

Canelo left side of his face looks a little tender lol especially his eye.

Boots is huge. Canelo's weird af. Short - doesn't seem that big yet fights at a much heavier weight class than all these other guys.

u/Revolutionary_Box569 2h ago

That's about as close as you can get it seems like

u/fadeddreams555 If Crawford beats Canelo at 168lb, he surpasses Mayweather 1d ago

Can't ask for better sparring. Hopefully, Canelo's ego isn't damaged after getting schooled in camp though.

Canelo’s been beating up on Boot’s older brothers since 2012

Ya really new to boxing huh

6

u/a_chicanoperspective 1d ago

So canelo practicing chasing after a “slick” boxer . This will be a boring fight because Crawford will be running all night. Oh well.

I expect this fight to suck, honestly. But still rooting for Crawford.
