Pretty Boy Floyd From The N'dou Fight (26 Yrs Old) Vs Currrent Shakur Stevenson (28 Yrs Old) At 135. Who Wins?
Mayweather when he was pretty boy was a more agressive fighter that threw combinations and had knockout power. Mayweather put on a good performance against n'dou and knocked him out. Shakurs style and fighting ability has been compared to money mayweather and not pretty boy and many ppl say money may was more skilled than pretty boy. Who would take it?

Mayweather specifically Pretty Boy is the even better version of Shakur. Dude was AGGRESSIVE. He's not just a "boxer" like we know him as Money. He was also a "brawler" with Pretty Boy.
Pretty Boy would press Shakur and break him down. They're even on the defensive side. But Pretty Boy can box AND brawl. So he will have an edge.
He also had massive wins with people like Gatti and Corrales at that age. No question he wins.

Floyd had hand issues as he moved up in weight. I’ve said for a long time, if he never moved above 135 and just beat every top fighter he could, his resume actually woulda been better and he would have racked up some wins against great names.

That version of Floyd whoops every current 135 pounder.

Does anyone 135 pounder throughout history beat that Floyd?

Lomachenko maybe?
Floyd had some problems with the movement of Emanuel Augustus, claiming he was his toughest opponent, and Lomachenko in his prime had much more refined movement & footwork. The only issue is that Lomachenko was probably a bit undersized for 135lbs.
There's also Edwin Valero, who was just a wrecking ball. I don't think you could count him out against anyone, and this version of Floyd fought more on the front foot & took more risks.
Not saying either man would definitely beat Floyd, but both would surely give him very difficult challenges to overcome.

had much more refined movement & footwork.
The unrefined movement and footwork of Augustus is the reason Floyd struggled.

Go watch the fight, there is not a moment he struggled, complete dominance. Floyd just gives props to every fighter after the defeats them, and people created this myth that augustus was some crazy good fighter.

bumachenko got spanked by an out of work uber driver and teofimo. he stands no chance against pretty boy floyd.

Only one that comes to mind is Sugar Ray Robinson at lightweight.

SRR was a Welterweight and beat nobody at lightweight.

SRR started his early career at lightweight. He fought Joe Echevarria at lightweight. SSR weighed at 134 for that fight in 1940. His last fight at 135 was against Maxie Shapiro. He fought plenty of fights at lightweight lol. Plus His skillset and versatility would give Floyd problems if they fought at 135.

u/TargetNo7279 23h ago
So he basically fought no one at LW like I said and SSR moved up as soon as he matured up. SSR wasn't at his best at LW.

u/LocationSpare4447 22h ago
You can’t always go off who somebody fought. What was Muhammad Ali’s first elite win before Sonny Liston? SRR was a elite fighter at lightweight even though it was short lived.

u/TargetNo7279 22h ago
Muhammad Ali earned his title shot and beat other contenders in the division before he fought Liston and HW was Ali's weight class, SRR never even fought for a title in LW.

You moving the goal post. Ali never beat an elite fighter until Liston. SRR earned his shot too. Sammy Angott was a lightweight champion that SRR beat. But Angott was scared to lose his belt it was a non title fight. That’s why they called SRR the uncrowned lightweight champion.

I didn't move the goal post one bit, Ali's weight class is HW and SRR's is WW and MW not LW. He wasn't truly elite when he was against LW and was still maturing.

Mayweather actually threw punches in bunches, especially from 130 to 140. And he had great defense.
Shakur seems to have great defense, but his offense is underwhelming. It seems like his “not getting hit” comes from not throwing punches. You can’t get hit if you don’t open yourself up by throwing punches.
He’d be so underwhelming to the judges if he fought a young Mayweather. Who was defensive but also opened up and threw punches.

I really like shakur and I really can’t stand Floyd but this question is straight up disrespectful to Floyd

If you have to ask this question, you haven’t seen pretty boy Floyd fight at 130-135.
If you’re genuinely wondering who would win, you must be new to boxing.
But I’ll assume you’re asking for the sake of discussion, which is always fun.
Floyd would take Shakur to school.

IMO Floyd probably beats him now in his 40s. Sure on points but he would likely still win.

What are we asking bro

u/Actual-Creme 1d ago
You’re comparing a good boxer to one of the greatest ever. Whose’s better Justin Herbert or Tom Brady? That's the question you're asking

With this, Haney vs Sugar Shane and Shakur vs Manny, I'm pretty sure people are trolling at this point

We still don’t know where shakur is at. Zepeda fight was impressive but I dislike how he didn’t put the STAMP on it in the championship rounds knowing that more dominate victories have robbed the victorious fighter. Also zepeda threw everything and never hurt shakur. It’s clear he has pillow hands. I want to see shakur against a power puncher. So Floyd for now

Another post where we all answer Floyd. As a big Mayweather fan these posts are boring.

That fight would definitely be a cure for insomniacs 😴

You are thinking of Money, but we are talking about his identical twin Pretty Boy

Floyd by decision. I think it’ll be competitive early on with Floyd taking risks while Shakur is focused from start to finish while having reflexes to match Floyd. He’ll probably take early rounds off Floyd for being more focused and Floyd taking risks and missing and probably getting countered but I think it’ll be competitive.

neither guy has fought anybody like the other. closest is floyd in fighting zab. i would pick floyd but its kinda hard to do these with guys only in the middle of their career. these work better with guys who’ve finished their career.

Floyd and it's not a comparison, sorry, shakur's resume sucks compared to floyd at that age

Anyone who watched Floyd at the lower weights knows the easy answer to this.
It’s funny how the brilliance of the early part of his career has somewhat faded into obscurity.

Extremely tough fight for both guys stylistically…no doubt a chess match with few clean punches landed…problem for Shamir is twofold IMO…he’s not quite the defender that Floyd was & he certainly does not have Floyd’s strength nor power…Mayweather’s shots would resonate more & Shakur is not the kinda fighter to elevate his work rate in order to compensate…Floyd wins a competitive UD

u/unclepoondaddy 1d ago
Idk if it would even be competitive. I can’t really think of one thing Stevenson does better

Thinking about how nice it would be if Tank or Haney actually fought Shakur, so we wouldn't be reduced to mythical matchups.

u/AdJust7980 1d ago
Idk but I know it’ll be boring as heck. They’ll be running around and peekaboo defense for 12 rounds.

All versions of Floyd beat all versions of Shakur.
Floyd too quick, smart/tricky, and powerful for Shakur.
