Baraou surprised me man. I rated him but kind of forgot how good he actually is, even though I had him winning against Culcay, kind of forgot about him.

Yeah same here
He was absolutely jobbed in the Culcay fight and is a world level fighter in my opinion
His record is impressive man. Most fighters fight journeymen with losing records for their first 5/10 fights.
Baraou has been fighting opponents with solid records and who are there to win since his very first fight
I think that’s held him in great stead

I think abass will get promoted to champ and then will fight Ortiz. Would be a great scrap while it lasts

Cubans are getting exposed earlier in their careers lately. This dude, Morrell, Ramirez. Andy Cruz is next.

It’s not that Cubans are being exposed . They are very good fighters . Just that pro game is very different from Olympic boxing. So even absolutely talented Olympic champions have hard time becoming elite pros. They are all world level fighters and most of them world champion level fighters , that is not getting exposed. Just reality is that pro boxing talent pool is way deeper than even Olympics talent pool

Baraou fought his ass off and looked great. Amazing pressure and infighting. You can tell he was all in and this meant everything to him...almost crying post-fight thanking his supporters. Tellez exposed a bit though he did bite down and throw until the end, when he got dropped doing it. He wasn't able to turn over the punches quickly enough or get out of the way in close, and his footwork was not good enough to maintain distance and stay off the ropes.
