any DATA PROFESSIONALS out there in the boxing world?
Hey guys, I have been working on scraping and building data for boxing and I'm at the point where I'd like to get some help from people who are actually good at this to see this through so we can open boxing data to the industry for the first time ever.
It's like one of the only sports that doesn't have accessible data, so I think it's time....
I wrote a little hoo-rah-y readme here about the project if you care to read and would love to get the right person/persons to help in this endeavor!

The project is a bit scant on details...
Where's the data you got so far?
How do you deal with breaking BoxRec's term's of service, and (worst case) potential legal action? In some jurisdictions compiling a database even of public data is protected by copyright (no, adding "Legal Note" at the end of you README won't help lol).
How do you keep data up to date? BoxRec gets data directly from many sporting commissions all over the world, and have regional editors for this. You can't just keep scraping BoxRec forever.
Even if you solve all the above and make it, what is the governance of this project? Often projects like this get people to contribute their time and labour for free, and then pulls the rug, closes up, and becomes a for-profit project for the founders (e.g. IMDB).

This is a project I also started but got stuck because I couldn’t scrape properly their data. I’m a trainee level developer with only 3 months worth of experience.
But if I could help this project with any tiny knowledge that might be useful it would be nice.
I love the concept of free, accesible to the public data and I hate Boxrec.

Not much of a developer or data pro but I’ve been trying to study and work on it. This seems like a pretty cool idea and I’d like to just look around and see how things are being run. Boxing Data is something I’ve been interested in seeing someone do and this looks pretty cool
