CBC Radio voice from early 2000s
Years ago around when I started listening to CBC Radio regularly, they hired a women to announce the upcoming shows. She had a really nice, pleasant voice but I remember hearing that there were complaints that her voice was too sultry and sexy.
Eventually they replaced her with a man with a very bland voice who I think might still be on and a woman who more often does the CBC Music bumpers. I’ve been curious to hear the voice again and find out what the story behind the controversy really was. I think it was around 2003, 2004 that she was doing the announcements. The only other time I heard her voice was on the CBC mini series JPod, she was the voice of a computer who I think was seducing one of the characters.
Does anyone know anything about the person behind this voice?

God I love that voice. Thank you so much. The writing is so camp, but the show is very informative.

That would be Stephen R. Hart. I remember the day his bit on The Current was about meeting “Promo Girl” and how it was blowing his mind.

She was know as CBC "Promo Girl" and eventually was revealed to be Shauna MacDonald. I saw her "live" once at a live recording of Brent Bambury's Saturday morning radio show "Go".
