CHECK YOUR SPARE TIRE! 2025 XT6 Spoiler

If any of y'all are driving a XT6, check your spare tire size BEFORE it becomes an issue.

My Wife got a flat tire but luckily made it home.

I went to show her how to change it out and come to find out that the spare DOES NOT FIT around the XT6's 6 piston brake caliper.

I dunno if it is a configuration issue; the XT6 came with factory 21" rims, and the spare tire is an 18". There is no way that small spare can fit over that monster of a brake caliper.

Im guessing a full size spare is the solution.

Just do yourself and loved ones a favor and check out your spare tire before you find yourself stuck without a way to get back on the road

If you got a flat on the front tire, typically you're supposed to swap the matching size rim from the rear to the front, the spare should fit over the rear brake caliper. If it does not, then I would definitely look into the issue.

Read your manual. It tells you to replace rear wheel with a spare and replace the flat front tire with that wheel. This applies to your RPO (J56)

RTM?!?!?

Dang it. That's crazy. I didn't even think about that.

Never mind then.

Double the work to change a tire.

You should be doing that regardless with any FWD car that has a donut spare

What do you think the manual is for? Read it, it’s full of surprises.

Are you the first owner? If not, the previous owner could've moved up to the larger tire size option but didn't replace the spare.

If you're the first, id be complaining to the dealership that they owe you spare in the correct size. No way the manufacturer would send out an 18" spare when you have factory 21s

First owner.

Others solved the issue. We're supposed to put the spare on the rear wheel and use the rear to replace the front flat.

He just needs to read his owners manual. There is nothing wrong with that spare

Yeah it’s in the manual as others have said, something I had to think about when I upgraded the brakes on my PL.
