Bored off season speculation, does Zary change his number this year?

I know Zary was faced with this decision last year, ultimately staying with 47 because of his success the previous season. But with the unfortunate injuries stifling his productivity and development in last years campaign (along with player superstition), could we see Zary in his juniors number 18? Maybe announce it after he signs a new contract, use it as a symbolic "washing away" of last seasons struggles and the consternation over contract negotiations.

As a #47 Zary jersey owner, I hope he sticks with it. If psychologically he can separate himself from some of the "bad luck" he had last year, it may be worth the change.

As another #47 Zary owner I would like it to stay as well. But all I really care about is Zary resigning anything else is a tragedy imo.

I hope he stays with 47. It's a unique number and he hopefully will continue to make it his own.

I'm the opposite, I've been hoping he'd change to 18 at some point for a while now. (I have a Neal jersey I got cheap and hoped to replate.)

That said, I think I saw an interview last summer that he had the choice to change then and said he was sticking with 47

He was on Empty Netters last summer and they asked him about this. He said he probably wouldn't change cause all his friends and family have jerseys with his number now.

Yup, we all saw that. To reiterate i hope he stays with 47, but for reasons mentioned above I could see him reconsider that decision.

He cant buy them all a new one? Lol how many people are talking here, I think he'll clear nearly 2.5 sheets after tax next year..

He needs to buy me one too!!! Haha honestly I kind of love the number. But definitely get why he'd want to change. I'm sure Zayne will get 19 this year too.

I sincerely doubt it, this is just a prolonged contract negotiation. Not even that a rare thing to have happen, but Canadian media blows these things way out of proportion.
