Just picked up my first medium format camera!! I knew the 6x7 was big but it really doesn't set in until you see it in person. My entire FTb with a 50mm lens could fit entirely inside just the body of this behemoth. I can't wait to get out and start using it to take some photos :)

Just got this camrea at a daisy chain shop and was curious on the age of it or when the model was produced, it's got a compur lens thingy on it which I'm not sure if it's an attachment or not. I've got lots of diffrent answers, 1930s, 1915, 1905 all over the place, if someone can tell me that would be great!

⢠â Budget: as cheap as possible, preferably under $200 but could maybe go up to 350
⢠â Country: United States
⢠â Condition: any condition as long as it works
⢠â Type of Camera: I would prefer it to be able to do video and pictures
⢠â Intended use: I am a music teacher and I use photos and videos as an aid for my memory when we are doing activities that are several weeks long to help kids remember whoâs in the group and what spot they are in. I also video the students and edit them to send to parents.
⢠â If photography; what style: no specific style
⢠â If video what style: no specific style
⢠â What features do you absolutely need: I would like to be able to take pictures quickly and not be too complicated.
⢠â Portability: it would probably be staying in my classroom so that doesnât really matter
⢠â Cameras you're considering: chatGPT suggested Kodak PixPro FZ45
⢠â Cameras you already have: I have some older cameras that I inherited from my dad, but they are very complicated it seems. He was a professional photographer.
⢠â Notes: there is a new rule this year, where we are not allowed to use our phones to take pictures or to even have our phones out during the school day, except on our planning. I donât really care too much about the quality of the picture or the video. It is OK if itâs a little lower quality than my iPhone. I would like the mic to be as good as an iPhone mic. I have been borrowing my school digital camera, and I have noticed that it takes a long time from when I take one picture before I can take a second picture and I need to take pictures relatively quickly. I donât know if what I want exist at what I am able to pay. Thanks for any advice .

Iâm looking to upgrade the Sony a6000 I picked up recently got it for very cheap but would like something a little better with some more features. Iâm still fairly new to camera photography but have spent lots of time using my phone as I do lots of hiking. Iâm looking for something that will take good nature photos mostly with decent video! I spent quite a bit of time in the mountains so that is a big importance to me. I would also like to have the added decent video as some friends of mine do small content creation and if possible I would love to help them out by allowing them to shoot with my camera or have me shoot for them, but this is definitely not my main priority just a nice to have!
For budget i would like to be under $1000 if possible and will be buying everything used to save money. I have a small problem with wanted to buy the best for everything so i spent more to get the higher end model or premium option when that might not even to be purchased over other alternatives! Thatâs why im asking you guys! I donât mind spending the extra for a good product that is better than the other options but also definitely like saving money!
Iâve seen the Sony a6400-a6600 series cameras and they look quite nice but recently started looking at the aviii but it is more excessive than the others. The a6400-6500 look nice as there budget friendly and seem to good features for what Iâm looking for and the more expensive a6600 has better battery and autofocus with unlimited video recording limit (doubt I would hit 30 anyways). Then to the a7iii it has a full frame sensor which has better lowlight as I would like to try Astro but I donât know if having full frame is worth the price increase, lens also seem to be more expensive for the full frame sensor. I also see that camera is a popular choice on here and some amazing photos but you can buy skill.
Thank you and I appreciate any feedback and suggestions you give me! I just want to know from the more knowledgeable people what you would recommend for me!

What's the oldest picture that you have that you took with a camera yourself.

Does anyone else here think that the constant posts of âWhat charger does this camera take?â, âWhat camera is this :::::insert blurry photo of camera in models hand::guy using?â And âWhat card does this camera take?â Are AI bots being trained?
Thatâs the only reason I can think why thereâs a definite uptick in them since the answer is either in the owners manual itself, easily searchable though Google or right on the camera in question.

I've never owned a film camera before, but know enough to use one. It's in great condition with no scratches, and the lens is perfectly clear. However, when I tried putting batteries in, it wouldn't turn on no matter what I did. The batteries are LR44 button cells, and the battery compartment is clean an there fliped the right way, but the battery check won't click into place it just springs back. I've heard that a common issue is a failing capacitor, but I don't know how to fix that.

my camera got dropped on the floor upside down and ever since, the zoom button is stuck and doesnt move or work anymore and has lost its spring back mechanism also the shutter button doesnt doesnt take any photos unless you press kind of hard and doesnt act the way a button does like no click or anything just pressing down and hoping for the best. I feel like it could be a simple fix but i dont want to do something that i regret. my camera is the nikon coolpix L29 btw PLEASE HELP

I'm looking at getting a camera that will mostly be for my daughter, who has expressed an interest in photography. I'd like it to be pretty small, under $1k, and still take different lenses. Basically a good starter camera that isn't a phone or a point and shoot that she can eventually graduate out of in a few years and have the skills to move up.
The A6100 and X-M5 look generally comparable. The A6100 I can pick up today and the X-M5 is complete unobtanium. Anyone look into both of these and have an opinion they'd like to share?

I recently upgraded my phone from an iPhone XR (12âŻMP single rear camera) to a Pixel 8 (50âŻMP main + 12âŻMP ultrawide), which is widely praised for its camera quality.
However, Iâve noticed something surprising: the older iPhone XR actually took much better photos for my use case.
My use case is taking pictures of products I sell, specifically Funko Pops, so the camera is close to the subject and capturing well-defined details is important.
The iPhone XR was able to capture those details (like text on boxes) much more sharply and with less blur. The colors also looked more vibrant, though that may be personal preference.
What could be the reason for this?
And how can I evaluate whether a phone camera will be good for this specific type of photography before buying?

⢠Budget: Up to $500 USD
⢠Country: United States
⢠Condition: Could be new or used
⢠Type of Camera: Point and shoot with decent zooming optics
⢠Intended use: hybrid shooting, but still photos are the main concern
⢠If photography: what style: landscape, wildlife
⢠If video what style: wildlife, candid
⢠What features do you absolutely need: a legit optical zoom instead of digital zoom; weather sealing would be great; a minimum of 12- to 16-MP resolution
⢠What features would be nice to have: Able to easily stow away in a jacket pocket or cargo pants pocket
⢠Portability: It needs to be infinitely portable
⢠Cameras you're considering: Nothing Iâve looked at fits the bill
⢠Cameras you already have: Just an iPhone 15 Pro Max camera
⢠Notes: My partner is going to Tanzania, Zanzibar, Estonia and Finland in November and would like a camera thatâs quite a bit better than an iPhone camera but not bulky and obvious like a DSLR or mirrorless

so all this time i only use my phone (i use dazzcam, i will attach my photos here as a reference for camera and lens options) and i consider to buy a used camera and separate lens (idk what to get, i prefer a small lens (i hope yâall get what i meanđ))
⢠â Budget: around idr 5-8 mio ($400 - $500) ⢠â Country: indonesia ⢠â Condition: used ⢠â Type of Camera: mirrorless / point and shoot ⢠â Intended use: street photography ⢠â Portability: pocketable / as long as itâs not taking so much space in my bag so i can carry it anywhere ⢠â Cameras iâm considering: fujifilm x-t10 bc i like the tone and the film simulation
Budget: $600 or less
Country: USA
Condition: Any
Type of Camera: Digital, Interchangable Lens
Intended Use: Street, Portrait, maybe a little landscape if possible
Photography Style: Not sure
Features: Viewfinder, Ability to change lenses, attach flash, built in simulation
Potability: Easy to carry around in a backpack or hold for long trips.
Cameras you're considering: I like the Fujifilm x cameras so something like that.
Cameras you already have: None
Notes: I'm looking to experiment with and learn the basics of photography so don't have any experience with it. I'm looking for a camera that I can use to learn but also that can grow with my skills until maybe I need something better in the far future.
For example, I hear that Sony cameras have been using the same lens mount for a long time so if I get a camera body from a few years ago that is cheaper but can invest in lenses then atleast I can use the same lenses with better body in the future
So these are kind of things I'm thinking about while also considering the portability, view finder, etc. So looking for a decent camera for street and portraits that is flexible for maybe landscape and a eco system that I can stay invested in.
Also, I'm new so not really sure if the above wants make sense in actually wanting to learn photography.
Thank you for any recommendations!!
Been enjoying so much photographing wildlife, mainly birds, for the past couple years, using my first and only camera, a Nikon coolpix P950.
Decided it was time to enter the "body+lenses" world now, for the better technology and options.
Charging the battery right now and then gonna update to the latest firmware. Wish me luck!
I know I'm gonna feel a big hit in the zoom range, but the technology and IQ improvement should be awesome.
I'll start saving for a longer lens in a near future hopefully.

I've had this sat in my room for a while now and I've just used it again and the photos aren't showing as much, do you know what is wrong with it?
