Currently filling out my grant for my coterminous tickets. I study abroad for up to three months at a time in Europe. I’m currently entering my final year. During the application you are asked if you have lived outside of the U.K. for more than six months. What would be advisable to write there? I am also a member of a HO approved gun club that takes long range shooting very seriously. I am an avid shooter and have a lot of experience abroad shooting a wide variety of firearms and calibres. and will be applying for a 300 Win mag - Long to ultra long distance target shooting with hunting in Europe. 223 straight pull - low to mid range shooting with practical elements 7.62x54r - mid to long range target shooting. (Mosin of course) 22lr or even 22 mag semi auto in any platform again for target shooting and practical mini rifle. (Yes I know large ammo price discrepancy between the two). 45-70 lever action for cowboy action target shooting and for hunting in Europe. 12g over under for clays and grouse/pheasant Also any suggestions for acceptable ammo quantities would be appreciated. Ammo price isn’t really an issue. I do shoot often.

Applying for a moderator to accompany all rifles. I will be reloading for all of these calibres bar the 22. Just looking for some general advice here, tips and pointers really.

An older gentleman was selling what I believe to be a KelTec PMR-30. While two other guys were looking at the pistol, I checked the box and noticed that all three magazines were already loaded with .22 Magnum rounds. In my opinion, that’s very irresponsible and unsafe to have live ammunition in the mags while showing or selling a firearm

I’m fairly new to collecting, I’ve only got 5 .22s and a 12 gauge but those were just cheap fun guns to get a feel for it, the whole reason I even got my PAL was to collect military surplus rifles and when scrolling through my local gun stores website I came across this. It’s ridiculously cheap (400$ cheaper than a mosin on the same website). it’s military surplus, it’s got an interesting feeding mechanism with the 6 round clips and the bottom ejection of said clips. I know that the ammo isn’t cheap or necessarily super easy to find which is essentially the only problem I can see with it but it IS a big problem. Like 45$ for 20 rounds. So I’d like to know what all of your opinions are. Should I? It would be my first military surplus if I did.

Anyone know what the Henry factory zeroes the 22lr mares leg? I was at the 25m range and was shooting way high with my iron sights as low as they go. I didn't get a chance to shoot at 50m but I think that's a better start.

I have a model 1917 (30.06) sporterized by BSA. It's in great condition that's been in my family for 70 years. It's already tapped for a scope. Identical to this one.

I'm ready to get a scope for it but funds are limited. I need the scope and rings to come in sub $500. Would be for just target shooting and hopefully whitetail deer hunting. Seems like a pretty accurate gun as I was able to get good groupings (maybe 6" diameter) with just the iron sites at 100m, and I am not a practiced shooter (other than with my old Czechoslovakian pellet gun, fuckin ace with that thing).

I'm will to wait for sales, less inclined to buy second hand for a delicate instrument as is a scope. The Vortex® Viper Riflescope 3-9x40mm - Dead-Hold BDC is on sale right now. Could be good? What rings would go well do ya think? are the threads usually universal or should I take the rifle into the shop to make sure the rings match before purchasing?

Recently bought 5.17 acres of property in Leeds and Grenville county. I have owned firearms for years but only shot at the range or crown land.

I am planning on getting some goats, and chickens, and I also have 2 dogs. What is the legality on shooting a predator animal on my property with a non restricted firearm? I was unable to find any local bylaws, and feel like I remember having to be 100m from a traveled roadway to discharge, but honestly struggling to find anything else.

Is there anyone here who can enlighten me?
