Mass Transfer is truly the bane of everyone's existence.

Am I the only one that thought mass transfer was like 10x easier than chemical equilibria?

Mass transfer was fucking shit bro

I think it just depends on the professor

I just made it through after my second attempt and god was it still miserable

My first try I thought there was 0% chance I passed. The whole time (and I had 1.5x accomodation) I felt like I had no idea what I was doing and all the questions were so fucking hard.

I passed my first try somehow. So glad I never have to take that stupid test again.

My teacher just barely taught the material so we had to piece together how half the shit worked

So after reading your post I went to search for PE operations/plant design questions to retest myself and came across this post might be of help to you.

What did you do to prep?

PPI prep books, 2019 exam, 2004/Matt G. Honestly came out feeling like I failed, all the questions I was worried about came up on my test

How long did you study? Are you taking it again in it near future?

I'm planning to take it soon.

I studied probably 150ish hours, but a lot of that time was close to the test (crammed). After taking the test I realized I only loosely (if at all) grasped some concepts

How long ago did you graduate?

2020, I don’t use much of this material in my job but I wanted to refresh on it

i want to take the exam, but im afraid no matter how much i study, i will fail it. im not a good test taker... especially from my understanding on how the exam is set up.

you essentially have to KNOW the equation book inside and out apparently. because i was told CTRL+F doesnt work. so you have to manually find what you are looking for. or else you will be wasting alot of your time looking...

Ctrl F worked for me! Navigating wasn’t too hard. I should’ve postponed, but honestly it was good prep and I know what I need to study more of. Dont let fear of failing stop you. There’s a lot of flunkers, me included

Ctrl F worked for me! Navigating wasn’t too hard

omg thats insane... i graduated close to 10 years ago now. and back when i was thinking about taking the test, there were numerous accounts of people telling me to ensure i know the equation section inside and out and where to find things and navigate. because CTRL+F didnt work for them...

i wondering if its test site specific then and depends on their software set up? like for example, some PDF files you cant ctrl F but some you can, kinda thing.

You’re sure this was about the PE exam? I had more trouble with the handbook for the FE exam. I took both at the same Pearson test center

oh dam! no it was the FE exam. i thought this was the FE exam lol.

oh shit this was PE exam?!?! well then, its not even that bad! looks like you're really close!

graduating in 2020 and taking the PE exam in 2025 is insane progress! congrats!

For what it’s worth the FE was easier!

I passed my second time after taking a PPI prep course, live on demand. I highly recommend. It’s a tough test, good luck!
