Great video from a psychologist about Chris and his for lack of a better word ( I likes simps) but I guess they are "fans". So why does a murderer have fans? Worth a watch for her insights.

He mentioned this in the interrogation and his prison interviews. But he never articulated exactly how he was different. Is this just his projection and blaming ?

If you could sit down with Chris Watts for 5 minutes and ask him one question knowing that he would answer you honestly (and in detail), what would you want to know?

For me it would be to ask him to objectively and logically explain what made him think he would ever get away with this?

I’d ask that because I believe he must’ve had more to his plan but just didn’t have time to carry out those steps and I’m curious what his full strategy looked like. Someone doesn’t go from multiple contacts a day with friends and family to no contact without some big blow up happening. There was no argument that had occurred with her friends or her parents. It doesn’t make sense for her to have stopped communicating with any of them so abruptly…and definitely not with 2 little ones and a baby on the way.

Finally, Shan’ann literally told him she was going to fight for their marriage and she wrote him that long letter just before she left for Arizona. She not only was determined to make it work, but she demonstrated herself to be highly communicative to the point of over sharing. How did he not realize she’s be talking about all their problems, in detail, to all her friends?

I’d really like to understand how he didn’t see any of this as a profound obstacle to what he was planning because I just can’t wrap my head around how profoundly stupid he was. How did your plan possibly make sense to you with that many obstacles, Chris? How?

It's not like he just committed a couple of indiscretions like adultery; he broke the cardinal rule, and to his own family to boot!

So I really have to wonder how he processes this in the context of his belief system. Does he really think that Jesus will give him a mulligan and he will make it past the pearly gates? Supposedly, he keeps a bible and a picture of his family. Is he really expecting to end up at the same place? I wish I could have that conversation with him.

That he did kill his wife to start over with his mistress.

That he did kill his children as collateral damage.

That he choose to do this, not the devil or NK.

One thing I’ve always struggled with in the Watts case is Chris’ claim that the girls woke up after he first smothered them.

If that were true, why wouldn’t they have been terrified of him at that point? Why would they approach him again?

Watts clearly has some form of schizophrenia that he managed to control for the majority of his life. Having such a potent evil side to his personality, I feel he built up significant resentment towards Shannan & probably the babies too. Being a total narc he no doubt blamed them for all the restrictions in his life & the barriers brought on by married life & fatherhood that he felt were in his way stopping him having the life & relationship he felt he was entitled to. The murders were carried out with significant ease & he discarded their bodies like they were garbage.

This tells me that the evil bastard enjoyed murdering them because there didn't seem to be any challenge or second thoughts when it came to the act of murder itself. He didnt stumble or pause to consider what a disgusting act he was living out. There was no tearful soul searching of what he was about to do. I think he enjoyed killing them immensely. In his mind they were a millstone & as the hero of his own story he didn't stop to consider how evil the entire thing was. He probably thinks people should cut him some slack & stop being hard on him almost like if he could just explain certain things people would understand & empathize with him. Little horrible bastard he is.

Furthermore, i believe if he DID get away with things for a while & was able to solidify his relationship with his mistress - the first sign of trouble in that relationship he would have begun to plan her murder too. He was a serial killer in the making. Thank God he was caught in time.

Just from my own experience seeing some very narcissistic people grip at any straw and anyone they can blame for themselves.

The fact CW mother even after the murders and conviction still held such distane for Shannon, if this is how she spoke after the murders, imagine what she and the family where like before.

I've no doubt Chris heard it all, and I wonder if that hatred from them (probably the only people he respects) helped embolden him to feel entitled to take their lives.

I just wonder if there was times he maybe blamed them? Even in his mind like "had they not riled me up so much I wouldn't of been driven to this!" or something along those lines, just as a way to blame anyone but himself. As he knows he did it so considering even in his mind he can't truly believe that him wanting a new life meant his family deserved the death penalty, now the dust is settled.

Nate commented to the police that he and his wife would hear Chris screaming at Shanann. He also said he thought Shanann left to get away from Chris because the arguing was so bad. Just wondering if there was more to the reason why Shanann left to North Carolina besides visiting her parents. Maybe she wanted to start a new life but realized she couldn’t do it alone and decided to work on the marriage instead. The marriage had to be in bad shape if Chris was heard screaming at Shanann a lot before the murders. Anyone’s thoughts?

At 1:25am Shanann texted a friend that they had landed. This is the last outgoing communication found on Shanann’s phone.

At 1:48am Shanann is dropped off by her friend, Nickole. The doorbell camera sees Nickole’s car waiting... to make sure Shanann safely enters the house. With her suitcase in one hand and her phone in the other she hurries up the walkway, punches in the key code and plunges into to the dark house. You just want to yell to her. To tell her to turn back to stop her somehow... We all feel it, this instinctual urge to warn her is so strong and completely illogical. We know what end waits for her in that house but for her in that moment... it’s not yet inevitable. Watts's phone logged the Vivint alert of Shanann’s entry to the house. Their Vivint home security system also reported a “living room” motion sensor activation when she entered the house but no other activations were recorded until later that morning.

Between 1:48-4:23am there was no movement detected by Vivint on the main floor of the home.

At 2:14pm Shanann’s phone “blows up” with worried messages from friends after it’s turned on. the afternoon moved into evening the messages became gut wrenching pleas to hear from Shanann, sending her prayers, hope and their love. Shanann, Bella, Celeste and Niko were clearly loved and cared for by many many people. And many of Shanann’s closest already had Watts in their sights.

At 2:25pm Watts “finds” Shanann’s ring on the nightstand. Nickole states she hadn’t seen the ring on the nightstand prior to this even though she had looked in the room.

Kessinger advised Watts to move his truck so Shanann would not be scared to come home. Kessinger claimed that Watts was pretending to not know Shanann was pregnant. Kessinger said she did not find out about the pregnancy until Tuesday from the news. Kessinger asked Watts to delete their texts. Kessinger also suggested Watts pawn Shanann’s wedding ring.

At 5:00 Lauren Arnold showed up at Watts’ house to help look for Shanann, Bella and Celeste.

At 10:45am CW searched for Mount Colima. He saved an image of the volcano spewing lava and smoke.

Throughout the day Shanann continued to text asking about her girls, planning the first day back to school, begging CW to talk to her and sharing her relationship struggles with her friends. At 12:17 one of the last known photos of Shanann in life was taken.

By 1:30pm CW had the girls at a birthday party and by all accounts his behaviour was normal. He even stuck with the rules and offered the girls an alternative treat to the birthday cake because of allergies. Two days later the girls shoes, apparently still wet from the party, were seen by LE on the front porch. These were the same shoes the dog handlers used for scent to search for Bella and Celeste.

At 3:14pm CW texts NK from the party “I’m still at the bday party. Kids are soaked from the water balloons😜”

At 3:56pm Shanann again asked about her girls, CW replied they were having fun at the party. Shanann texts back “Good, I’m glad. Ok, love you.” CW did not respond.

At 4:07pm he texts NK again “Been pounding fruit and had a whole jar of asparagus. He didn’t smoke any bbq this time. He did hot dogs so I did the fruit and veggies💪”

At 4:56pm CW again searched up a volcano, Paracutin.

At 5:06pm CW texts coworker, Kodi, confirming he would go straight from his house to Cervi 319 in the morning.

At 5:07pm CW and the girls FaceTimed with Shanann’s parents for 12 minutes. Frank heard Celeste talking about “mommy coming home” and CW told her that she was coming home tonight, and when she woke up the next morning her mom would be home. This was the last time the girls were seen alive by anyone other than their murderer.

At 5:20pm Kodi texts back explaining he had planned to go to Cervi 319 first thing in the morning himself. 3 minutes later CW replies “no sense in both of us going out there lol”

At 6:09pm Kodi replies “Alright sounds good man, I appreciate it.” This confirms for CW that he will be first to Cervi 319 the next morning.

At 6:44pm CW took a pic of the temperature setting of the fridge.

At 6:47pm CW took a pic of 4 chicken breasts on the bbq.

When, at 7:46pm, Shanann asks if the girls are in bed and for pics of the girls CW says “Bella just back in bed” and resent the pics from earlier that day. He included 1 additional pic of Bella at the party, this is the last known photo of Bella taken in life. Shanann continued to text and call CW trying to communicate and resolve her fears of the impending doom of her marriage. She ends up texting friends instead, planning what she might say to her husband “Can you please tell me something? I need you to give me just a little bit of what I did, or didn’t do, so I’m not going crazy in my head to figure it out.”

At 8:33pm Shanann texts CW “Thank you for taking good care of the kids this weekend so I can learn and work, I appreciate it!”

At 9:28pm CW makes a 111min call to NK which ends at exactly 11:19pm.

At 9:30pm Shanann makes an unanswered call to CW.

At 9:44pm Shanann texts CW informing him of her flight delay.

At 11:21pm CW finally replied to Shanann texting “Holy crap. Sorry, I passed out on the couch. That’s gonna be late.”

My guess is the plan was in motion as soon as he confirmed he would be the first to Cervi 319 the next morning. I find the pics of volcano, fridge temp and chicken on the bbq at this critical time perplexing... maybe they were meant to be used as coded messages or just marking times for himself? I don’t believe CW is completely truthful in any of the confessions and it’s anybody’s guess what really happened between 6pm and approx 7:30am when coworkers showed up at Cervi.

One thing is for sure... Shanann was worried. Pregnant and struggling with an impending sense of doom, believing if she could just reach CW they could work together to keep their family together. Through her texts you can feel her desperation and confusion, hope biting at her nerves her fears closing in on her. And yet... she really had no idea how much more horrible the situation really was and how could she? How could she fathom the extent of his father facade and his absolute moral depravity. CW’s self proclaimed soul mate was not Shanann, it was Nichol Kessinger.... he felt he could really be himself with her... but did she even glimpse the real evil monster residing within this shell of a human?
