Mara just changes the entire game for UCLA on both ends. It is amazing what 1 player can do to make the offense and defense so much better. Teams cannot drive into the lane with him in there. UCLA is so bad at rebounding defensively but are so much better with him in there. Then on offense when it runs through him they get so many more open shots plus he has become such a good passer. That bounce pass to Clark was unreal. On top of that he is just such a weapon from 5 feet in. Please for the love of God Cronin play him 25 minutes a game in this tourney. Its the only chance we have of winning games.

As much as I'm enjoying a 12-point lead at the half, we'd be absolutely cooked if Utah State could make even a reasonable percentage of open 3s. Counting on the other team to be cold is not a viable long term strategy.

The only game UCLA lost since Jan 1st where Mara played over 13 minutes was the Minnesota game which we all know was the biggest choke job ever by the team in the final few minutes. 9-1 when he plays 13+ minutes. 1-7 when he doesn't
