May he be at peace. I've seen far too many good young people die way too young the past few years, yet the old shitheads survive.

RIP. Contributed 6 PPG in his last season at North Dakota and started 15 games.

My nephew was there for this. Him and his friends just left the water when they saw this guy struggling in the wind. He started yelling for help, three of my nephews buddies ran in to help him. The first getting there started getting pulled under with him. My nephew was able to take someone's floaty and run in. By the time he got there the guy was under and never came up, the first guy that had reached the victim had passed out and nearly drowned himself. Luckily my nephew and his friends were at least able to keep him alive and out of the water. They said they tried to find the first guy but the wind started getting insane and they had to pull their friend back. The friend was taken to the hospital where he recovered and was released later that night.
Rip to the young man who passed, really is a tragedy.

Not able to read the article due to the pay wall but this is completely tragic. Teenagers should not be passing away due to any circumstances if we can help it

He was 22, but still wayyy too young.
Seems like it was a freak recreational death. Just out having fun swimming with a friend. There was another 22 year-old that drown at this same one in 2009.
No lifeguard at the reservoir. Maybe they should close this place to the public.
RIP young man

It's a tragedy for sure, but wow that is just a tiny pond. No more than 500 feet across. I see nothing inherently dangerous about that thing. It just probably draws a lot of people and lulls them into a false sense of security because it's small size.
